Florida Gulf Coast University's women's tennis team delivered a 7-0 sweep Sunday against Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky.
The Eagles (11-8) are now 6-2 in Atlantic Sun Conference standings while the Colonels (9-16) fell to 2-6.

"The Ladies competed well today and they are taking steps and learning more about themselves each time they compete," said FGCU head women's tennis coach Courtney Vernon.
FGCU got straight to action in doubles as
Jordana Ossa and
Lola Glantz won 6-1 on court No. 3. The No. 1 duo pair of
Fanny Norin and
Ida Ferding then clinched the match for the Green & Blue with a 6-2 victory.
In singles, Amelia Kopel pushed the Eagles advantage to two, easily winning 6-1, 6-0 on court No. 6. Ferding followed along taking her match on No. 5Â with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Paloma Goldsmith clinched the match for the Green & Blue with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on No. 3 and pushed the lead to 4-0.
Fanny Norin continued the offensive barrage and won 6-1, 6-3 on court No. 1 before Jordana Ossa closed out the 7-0 sweep with a 6-3. 6-2 victory on court No. 4.
 FGCU will now head to De Land, Florida on Wednesday to play Stetson University (10-6, 7-0 ASUN) at 10 a.m.
