Third-seeded Florida Gulf Coast University beach volleyball team delivered 3-0 wins against No. 8 Austin Peay State University and No. 4 University of North Alabama Friday in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament in DeLand, Fla.

The Eagles (17-19) will now take on No. 2 seed Stetson University (21-11) 11 a.m. Saturday for a chance to play University of North Florida (23-11) in the championship match at 2 p.m. 

"The ladies regrouped after yesterday and came out and took care of business today." said FGCU head beach volleyball coach Chris Sweat. "After defeating a very scrappy Austin Peay team, UNA gave us all that we could handle in the second match. They showed why they had so many post season awards and they are definitely a well coached and up-and-coming team in NCAA beach volleyball. We know tomorrow is going to be a battle against the defending conference champions, but this is what the postseason is all about. We're going to take it one play at a time and I can't wait to watch this special group of talented athletes play tomorrow."

In the morning match, Jaci Carpenter and Mia Thompson got straight to work winning 21-12, 21-11 on court No. 4 before Skylar English and Sydney Majick delivered a 21-10, 21-17 win on court No. 5.

Nicole De Oliveria and Kaitlyn Luebbers would close out the match for the Green & Blue with a 21-18, 21-14 decision on court No. 3. The Eagles 3-0 win advanced them to play UNA, who previously defeated Jacksonville University 3-1.

Against the Lions, English and Majick got FGCU on the board first with a 21-14, 21-18 win on five before Carpenter and Thompson won the first set with a marathon victory of 27-25 and then delivered a 21-12 victory for the second on court No. 4.

De Oliveria and Luebbers clinched the match for the Green & Blue after rallying through three sets and prevailing 15-21, 21-14, 15-13 on court No. 3 to send the Eagles to the semifinals.
