FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University's women's tennis team delivered a 7-0 sweep Sunday against University of Central Arkansas for Senior Day.

Ida Ferding and
Jordana Ossa were honored for their contributions towards FGCU.
The Eagles (12-9) are now 7-3 in Atlantic Sun Conference standings while the Sugar Bears (11-13) fell to 3-7.

"Today was a very special day for our seniors Lola, Ida, Fanny and Jordi, they have given so much to this program and we are beyond grateful for them," said FGCU head women's tennis coach

FGCU got straight to action in doubles as Ossa and Glantz won 6-2 on court No. 3. The No. 1 duo pair of  Norin and  Ferding then clinched the match for the Green & Blue with a 6-3 victory.
In singles, Ferding pushed the Eagles advantage to two, easily winning 6-1, 6-3 on court No. 5. Norin followed along taking her match on No. 1 with a 6-0, 6-3 win.
Ossa clinched the match for the Green & Blue with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on No. 4 and pushed the lead to 4-0.
Amelia Kopel continued the offensive barrage and won 6-2, 7-6 (1) on court No. 6 before Paloma Goldsmith delivered a  7-6 (2), 6-3  show on court No. 3. Isabella Colmenares rallied through three sets to close out the 7-0 sweep with a 3-6. 6-3, 7-6 (4) victory on court No. 2.
FGCU will now await seeding for the 2024 ASUN Championship Tournament, scheduled for April 19-Â 21 at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
