Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis lost the final match of the 2024 season, 4-0, in Gainesville, Fla. on Sunday against the No. 21 University of South Carolina.
The Eagles had an uphill battle against the nationally-ranked Gamecocks, who also possessed two ranked singles players and a ranked doubles pairing.
The German duo of
Philipp Bosse and
Mika Bunjes were in a battle on double three, knotted up at four, before the match was abandoned due to South Carolina clinching the double point.
Hugo Magnusson and
Pablo Paternostro each won a set on the day. Paternostro won his second set 6-3 and Magnusson won his first set 6-3 with the second set still undecided.
This is the final match of the 2024 season for FGCU men's tennis. The Eagles will be back in the fall for the fall slate.
