Florida Gulf Coast University's beach volleyball team dropped a 4-1 decision before delivering a 3-2 victory against Tulane University Sunday at the Florida Atlantic Beach Burrow Bash in Boca Raton, Florida.

"Today was another day of some really intense, and extremely competitive volleyball," said head coach Chris Sweat. "We had our chances in tiebreak sets but couldn't pull it out vs a very talented South Carolina team, so it was great to see us come back and win versus a Tulane team that pushed us to overtime in a few matches."

In the morning match, Shelby Beisner and Trinity Rosales delivered a 21-19, 23-21 score to defeat SC's No. 1 pair.

For the second match of the day, FGCU took a 1-0 lead when Beisner and Rosales won 21-14, 21-18 on court No. 1. The Green Wave got on the board after Sydney Majick and Skylar English (FGCU) fell 21-17, 21-10 on court No. 5.

Kaitlyn Luebbers and Nicole De Oliveira gave the Green & Blue control again when they pushed through three sets to win 21-17, 18-21, 15-13 on court No. 3.

The Eagles just needed one more point to clinch the match and the No. 2 duo of Emma Soncrant and Kacie Johnson sealed the victory for the Eagles with a 22-24, 21-16, 17-15 decision.

FGCU will now await its seeding position for the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
