FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University will welcome Florida International University for a midweek baseball contest Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Swanson Stadium.
The Eagles (12-14) are coming off a 7-5 win at Queens University of Charlotte Saturday afternoon. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for FGCU.
Robert Moya hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in the win, with
Lucas Hartman and
Justin Henschel combining for the win and save, respectively.
FIU (15-13) dropped two out of three to Louisiana Tech in Conference USA Action over the weekend. Last week, the Golden Panthers fell 14-7 to Miami.
The two teams have met once this season already with the Eagles taking an 8-7 win in 10 innings March 13.
Evan Dempsey homered twice in the contest, with
Mac Moise hitting a tie-breaking homer in the 10th. FGCU and FIU will play twice more this season, splitting a home-and-home series next Tuesday and Wednesday.
