Florida Gulf Coast University's beach volleyball team delivered a 5-0 sweep against Houston Christian University and dropped a narrow 3-2 decision against Coastal Carolina at the Tampa Invite in Tampa, Florida.
"I was disappointed with our execution against Coastal Carolina, and they took full advantage of it," said head coach 
Chris Sweat. "I was pleased to see us turn it around in our second match and get a victory against a team that made us work for every point
.  
Kaitlyn Luebbers and Nicole De Oliveira added two more wins to their season record going 21-12, 21-14 against Coastal Carolina (5-5) and clinching the match against HCU (1-9) with a  21-19, 21-8 decision. 
Shelby Beisner and 
Trinity Rosales were the other duo to grab two wins on the day pushing through an amazing 32-30, 21-18 score at No. 2 against Coastal and 21-19, 21-18 at No. 1 versus HCU. In the evening match 
Kacie Johnson and 
Emma Soncrant won 21-12, 21-17 at court No. 2 
Jaci Carpenter and 
Sydney Majick rallied through three sets and triumphed with a 21-14, 19-21, 15-9 score.
Skylar English and 
Mia Thompson sealed the victory on court 5 with a 21-19, 22-20 showing.
FGCU will finish the Tampa Invite tomorrow by taking on host and No. 20 Tampa before taking on No. 4 FSU.
