Fort Myers, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University's beach volleyball team delivered a 4-1 victory against Palm Beach Atlantic University and fought well against No. 16 Florida Atlantic University despite falling 4-1 on Senior Day.

FGCU Athletics and the beach volleyball program honored Kacie Johnson, Shelby Beisner, Trinity Rosales and Manaia Rewi for all their hard work and contributions during their time playing for the Green & Blue.

"Looking back on at career of these amazing seniors, I will be forever grateful that they put their trust in me and came to FGCU," said head coach Chris Sweat. "They all had a huge impact on myself and the program, not only in wins but also in shaping our program to where it is now. I can't wait to watch them the rest of their senior year lead this team to some great wins."

Jaci Carpenter and Mia Thompson won the first match for the Eagles (10-10) with a 21-8, 21-23, 15-8 victory on court No. 4. Skylar English and Sydney Majick were next winning 21-10, 21-17 on court No. 5.

Seniors Beisner and Rosales clinched the match over the Sailfish (9-12) on court No. 1 registering an easy 21-13, 21-10 win. Johnson and Soncrant gave FGCU its fourth point on court No. 2 rallying through three sets and producing a 21-12, 19-21, 15-9 win.

Palm Beach sealed its only point for the day against the Green & Blue as Nicole De Oliveira and Kaitlyn Luebbers dropped their match with a 23-21, 14-21, 17-15 decision on court No. 3.

Johnson and Soncrant were the only victorious pair versus the Owls (12-7) registering a 21-17, 21-9 win on court No. 2.

FGCU will now head to the TCU invitation in Forth Worth, Texas that begins on Friday and will first take on Arizona State at  8 a.m.
