Florida Gulf Coast University's beach volleyball team won both matches on day two of the UNF Tournament. The Eagles first handed out a 3-2 win against the host before sweeping Mercer University for a second time this season in Jacksonville.

"I was very happy with our fight in the matches today," said head coach Chris Sweat. "UNF is such a deep team. Coming away with some big wins in the third set was huge for us. Kaitlyn and Nicole going 4-0 on the weekend really anchored us, and I love the energy.
 
"We are really looking forward to our home match in front of our fans Tuesday."

Kaitlyn Luebbers and Nicole De Oliveira delivered the first win against the Ospreys (5-3, 2-1 ASUN)  with a 21-16, 21-18 victory at No. 3. Shelby Beisner and Trinity Rosales followed along, winning 21-18, 17-21, 15-12 at No. 2 before the No. 1 pair of Kacie Johnson and Emma Soncrant clinched the match with a 21-18, 16-21, 15-11 decision.

In the evening Jaci Carpenter and Cai Caiozzi led the Eagles (6-2, 2-2 ASUN) off at No. 5 with a 21-13, 21-9 showing.  Mia Thompson and Sydney Majick pushed through three sets, prevailing 21-10, 17-21, 15-12 on court No. 4.
 
Beisner and Soncrant teamed up at court No. 2 and clinched the match with a 21-10, 21-16 victory.
 
The FGCU barrage continued with Luebbers and De Oliveira making their jobs look easy, resulting in a  21-10, 21-12 showing at No. 3
 
Johnson and Rosales ended the 5-0 victory for the Eagles cruising to a 21-13, 21-18 win at No. 1.
 
FGCU returns to action Tuesday, hosting Eckerd College at 12 noon and Tampa University at 4 p.m.
