FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis beat Lipscomb University 4-3 on Friday.
The doubles point was hard fought but went to the Bisons.
The Eagles went into singles competition knowing they would need a majority of the courts to win the match.
Pablo Paternostro and
Hugo Magnusson swung momentum toward the Eagles when they made quick work on courts two and one, respectively, winning three and four on both.
Lipscomb battled back to take the match lead 3-2 when team captain Eric Oncincs put the team on his back.
Oncins took court five 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 turning the match into a dead heat at 3-3 with
Philipp Bosse still in action.
With his team cheering just one court over, Bosse settled the match with a 6-3 victory in the third set.
Up next for the green and blue is the next ASUN match against UNA.
