Libby Russum from women's swimming and diving and
Dallion Johnson from men's basketball have been named the Florida Gulf Coast University Suncoast Credit Union Scholar Athletes of the Month for November.
Russum, a junior from Kingsport, Tennessee is pursuing her degree in communications and currently has a 3.77 GPA.
During the 2024 season, Russum posted the program record in the 50 fly, clocking 24.18. She then finished within the top five in the 50 free posting a time of 23.06 and 54.73 in the 100 fly at the ASUN Championships. She opened the season with a first-place finish in the 100 fly (56.03) against FAU and Bellarmine.
Johnson is looking to build upon his 2024 season where he played in all 32 of the Eagles games and averaged 30 minutes per game, and 10.8 points each outing. He registered 15 points or more seven times last season. For the 2025 season that has just begun, he delivered 25 points versus CSU Bakersfield on Nov. 22.
The Boston native is pursuing his master's degree in health and has a 3.66 GPA.
This is the fourth year Suncoast Credit Union has been the title sponsor of the FGCU Athletics Scholar-Athletes of the Month. The award dates back to the 2011-12 season.
