FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nehki Perry from men's cross country and Shelby Kent from volleyball have been named the Florida Gulf Coast University Suncoast Credit Union Scholar-Athletes of the Month for September.
 
A senior from Cape Coral, Perry is pursuing a degree in exercise science and currently has a 3.57 GPA. On the course, Perry helped the Eagles to a win at the Hatters Invite in DeLand with a third place individual finish. He also ran a competitive time of 26:04.58 at the Southern Showcase

Kent is pursuing her MBA and has posted a 3.62 GPA. On the court, the senior from Port St. Lucie has twice been named Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Month. She leads the team with 350 kills and a 4.22 kills per set average. She is averaging 4.80 kills per set.
 
This is the fourth year Suncoast Credit Union has been the title sponsor of the FGCU Athletics Scholar-Athletes of the Month. The award dates back to the 2011-12 season.
