FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University's men's basketball team will be back in the friendly confines of Alico Arena Tuesday night as the Eagles play host to New College of Florida. Start time is set for 7 p.m. in a game that will be streamed via ESPN+.
The Eagles (2-7) fought hard but couldn't match the depth of (RV) University of Cincinnati as FGCU fell 99-62.
Keeshawn Kellman had a career-best 23 points in the contest for the Eagles, with
Chase Johnston scoring 10 second-half points. The Eagles played the Bearcats evenly for the first 12:30 of the second half, holding a 31-30 lead for that stretch of action.
New College of Florida will treat this game as an exhibition. This is the first year of play for the Mighty Banyans program as it begins to play as an NAIA school.
