FORT MYERS, Fla. – The No. 26 FGCU women's basketball team (17-2 overall, 5-0 ASUN Conference) begin a two-game road trip at 7 p.m. Thursday night at Queens (N.C) (6-10, 1-4) in Charlotte, N.C. All the action will be available to view on ESPN+.
FGCU has won nine consecutive games and 13 of its last 14 – including an 86-31 defeat of Central Arkansas on Saturday night that saw the Eagles make a season-best 17 3-pointers.
Queens is coming off a 68-53 road victory at North Florida on Saturday night. Senior guard Adia Brisker tied her career high with 25 points and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds. Brisker is the Royals' leading scorer, delivering 11.8 points per game. Redshirt freshman forward Jordyn Weaver snares 6.7 rebounds per outing.
Queens is in its first year of Division I basketball, and Thursday marks the Royals' first meeting with FGCU.
Saturday's 55-point margin of victory against Central Arkansas was just two points shy of FGCU's highest of the season, a 93-36 thumping of Palm Beach Atlantic on Dec. 8. Graduate guard

Muskegon, Mich./Muskegon HS/Mississippi State) led the way with a game-high 14 points apiece. It was Morehouse's 15
th double-digit game of the season and her fourth consecutive game leading the Eagles in scoring. It was Winston's 16
th time registering double digits and also her fourth time leading the Green & Blue.

Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus/Albany) pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and dealt a team-high seven assists.
Morehouse continues to lead the Eagles this season with 16.1 points per game, which ranks second in the ASUN. Winston adds 14.3 points per outing, and Carter delivers 10.8 points per game. Stiles leads FGCU in rebounding with 5.2 per game. List leads the team with 79 assists and Morehouse is close behind with 68. Morehouse also leads the Green & Blue with 36 3-pointers, and Winston has 33.
The Eagles complete the road trip Saturday, taking on Liberty (9-7, 3-2) at 7 p.m. in Lynchburg, Va.
FGCU has made the most 3-pointers in the country, hitting 210 treys so far in 2022-23, and is ranked first in the nation with 11.1 per game. The Green & Blue have allowed opponents only 78 3s, a 2.9-per-game clip. FGCU's run to its 2021-22 national ranking was due to the Eagles' continued dominance behind the 3-point arc. The Eagles have led the nation in made threes per game the past three years and in four of the last five seasons -- with an NCAA single-season record total 431 in 2017-18.
Entering this season, the Eagles were selected by both the coaches and the media to repeat as ASUN champions. FGCU is currently ranked No. 2 in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Eagles finished with a program-best-ever No. 20 coaches poll ranking in 2021-22 and have four Top 25 finishes in the past five seasons. Further, only the Green & Blue and defending national champion South Carolina have won at least 30 games in five of the last eight campaigns.

FGCU head coach
Karl Smesko maintains a record of 627-130 (.828) overall in his career, the third-highest winning percentage among active Division I coaches behind only UConn's Geno Auriemma and LSU's Kim Mulkey. He has also led the Eagles to a 236-18 (.929) mark in ASUN regular-season play and a 30-2 (.938) record in ASUN tournament play. Over the previous 10-plus seasons, he has guided FGCU to a 156-5 (.969) record in conference play with six undefeated seasons. The 12-time ASUN Coach of the Year has led the program to 12-straight 25-win seasons and 18 consecutive 20-win campaigns, including 30-plus wins in five of the last eight years. On top of all that, the Eagles are 565-103 (.846) all-time since Smesko started the program in the 2002-03 season, and the Green & Blue's .846 all-time winning percentage is the best in NCAA Division I women's basketball history.

ABOUT FGCU
FGCU teams have combined to win an incredible 94 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 15-plus seasons at the Division I level. Additionally, in just 11-plus seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had a combined 47 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. In 2022, the men's golf team became the first program to earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Eight FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport - including women's basketball (No. 20, 2021-22 and No. 25 in 2022-23) beach volleyball (No. 20, 2022) and both men's soccer (2018, 2019) and women's soccer (2018) as four of the most recent. The past seven semesters (Fall 2019 – Fall 2022) saw another milestone reached as all 15 programs achieved a 3.0-or-higher cumulative team GPA.
