Due to a positive COVID result and contact tracing within the program's travel party, the FGCU men's tennis team is withdrawn from the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles were slated to play No. 24 N.C. State at 11 AM today.
 
"We are certainly disappointed for our program to miss this opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament. We have great pride in our tennis team's continued significant accomplishments and are saddened the season is coming to a close this way," said Director of Athletics Ken Kavanagh. "We are appreciative of everyone's efforts to get the team back together and up to South Carolina in such a short window for a chance to play after only being notified late on Tuesday of Liberty's withdrawal due to similar circumstances. Unfortunately, there have been other instances of teams in tournaments this year having to withdraw. In turn, this is yet again another reminder that we must be vigilant as we continue to fight the pandemic and that vaccination is a substantial step in making sure special opportunities in life aren't missed."
