SCOUTING THE BULLS
The Bulls enter Fort Myers with a 2-4-0 record after two-straight wins against Ohio State (1-0 road victory) and their latest win being a 4-1 triumph over FAU at home. In that win, three different USF players tallied a goal, with Alex Ziz netting a brace. USF will have the reigning American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week in Tomasz Skublak back in their lineup after he sat out against FAU due to a red card he picked up against Buckeyes.
USF's roster features four different goal scorers as Ziz and Skublak each have two apiece along with four points each. Har Devenish-Meares is the Bulls primary keeper, making all six starts in net, boasting a 1.17 goals against average and 22 saves. Â
USF began the 2018 slate receiving votes in the national poll after finishing in the top 50 of the RPI last year with a 6-6-4 record. So far this season, the Bulls have faced three opponents with a top-25 ranking.
BUILDING A CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM
Since the program's first two seasons in 2007 and 2008, FGCU has posted a winning record each of the past nine years. All-time, the Eagles are 104-70-27 (.598) in 11 seasons, including a dominant 56-19-8 (.746) record in ASUN contests. In just seven years of D-I postseason eligibility, FGCU has won four ASUN Tournament championships and made four NCAA Tournament appearances – in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016 – and won an unprecedented six-straight ASUN regular-season championships from 2010-15.
