FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU softball team returns home for its final contests of the regular season as the Eagles host UNF for a three-game series before next week's conference tournament.
The Eagles will commence play with the first doubleheader game starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, as the finale will be played on Saturday at 2 p.m. Prior to the first pitch, FGCU will honor its eight graduating seniors.
ASUN TOURNAMENT IMPLICATIONSÂ
The Eagles currently sit third in the league standings behind USC Upstate (31-17, 10-6 ASUN). FGCU is guaranteed the No. 3 seed in next week's tournament by winning at least one game this weekend but can garner the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye with a sweep of UNF.
STAR WARS DAY
In Friday's doubleheader, the FGCU Marketing staff will provide fans with Star Wars Trivia in celebration of "May the Fourth" Day with prizes being handed out to participants with the correct answers.
GREENOUT
Fans are encouraged to wear green to Saturday's contest to create a 'Greenout' atmosphere. Also, the first 50 fans will receive a free burrito from Moe's.

A two-time ASUN Player of the Week this season,
Racquel Fournet (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Preparatory School finds herself in the top-3 of the ASUN with a batting average of .393. In her 57 hits totaled, the junior has smacked 13 doubles, five homers and has driven in a team-best 30 RBI. Senior left fielder
Kelsey Huff (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer HS) is on the doorstep of .300 as she is hitting .294 this season, accumulating the second most hits on the team with 48 while providing a threat on the bases with 19 stolen bags. Â

Riley Randolph (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast HS) has racked up the second-most wins in the conference with 15 and carries an ERA of 1.76. In her 139 innings worked, the junior ace has fanned 123 opponents – giving her 100 now for three-straight seasons – and is holding the opposition to a .213 average to go along with seven complete games.
Taylor Bauman (Jacksonville, Fla./Atlantic Coast HS) has recorded 15 saves this season – tying an NCAA Single-Season record set back in 2008 – while
Morgan White (Ocala, Fla./Forest HS) leads the rotation with a 1.57 ERA – 3rd among pitchers in the ASUN and 44th in the country.Â
A LOOK AT THE BOOK
A career .347 batter into her junior campaign, Fournet holds the highest career batting average amongst players that played their entire career at the Division I level. Overall, the junior sits eighth all-time in program history. Two spots behind Fournet, Huff's .342 average is good for 10th in the history of the Green and Blue.
In addition, Fournet has now moved into third place with 45 doubles (13 this season), the second most in Division I history.
In the circle, Randolph's 1.75 ERA puts her fifth in FGCU history as she holds the lowest ERA in the program's Division I history.

RPI WATCH
In this week's RPI poll, FGCU moved three spots to #38 in the nation to lead the ASUN. Kennesaw State (39), Lipscomb (50) and USC Upstate (71) rounded out the ASUN squads in the top-71 RPI. As of now, the conference is rated the sixth-best conference in the country. At the conclusion of the 2017 season, the ASUN boasted the 5th highest conference RPI, at one point being ranked as high as 4th in the nation.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
UNF will enter the Nest with an overall mark of 24-27, going 4-11 in ASUN action. The Ospreys are still vying for a berth in the conference tournament and will need to wins to secure a spot. Meanwhile, junior Navia Penrod leads the team hitting .432 (20th in the country) accumulating 70 hits. UNF also boasts the reigning ASUN Player of the Week in Megan Woodson who batted .500 last week against Stetson.
In the circle, the pitching staff holds a 2.44 ERA as Sydney Matzko leads the team with 12 wins along with 22 complete games. Morgan Blourne is next in line picking up seven wins with four complete outings.
FGCU leads the all-time series 17-13, winning the last five of seven. The last meeting between both programs came in last year's ASUN Championship in which the Eagles shutout the Ospreys 3-0. Â
LAST TIME OUT
In nine innings, FGCU snagged game three from Lipscomb by a score of 2-1 to take the series Sunday afternoon at Draper Diamond.
Trailing 1-0 with one last opportunity at the plate,
Brittany McGuire (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra HS) doubled to left-center to send the game into extras. From there, the Eagles struck again in the top of the ninth producing three hits highlighted by
LuLu Newmark (Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage HS/Bowling Green) knocking one into left field for the eventual game-winning RBI.
UP NEXT
FGCU will await its seeding after this weekend and head to Deland, Fla., for the ASUN Championship which will take place starting on Wednesday, May 9 through Saturday, May 12 on the campus of Stetson University.

COACH DEIROS
The founding father of FGCU softball, David Deiros is in his 16th season as head coach. Hired in 2001 to build the program from the dirt up, Deiros has since guided the Eagles to a 608-313-3 (.665) overall mark, 12 seasons with a winning record, and nine campaigns with 35 wins. Deiros is a former head coach at the 1998 Florida State Runner-up Lely High School in Naples and is the founding head coach of the 1999 District Champion/2001 Regional Runner-up Gulf Coast High School in Naples.
