HOW WE GOT HERE COMPLETE BRACKET
FGCU's offense was almost unstoppable in a 105-55 win over Lipscomb in the semifinals on Wednesday. China Dow scored a season-high 30 points and made an ASUN tournament and program-record tying eight 3-pointers, while the Eagles drained 22 as a team to break another tournament record and tie a program record. The Green and Blue also dished out an ASUN tournament and Division-I era program record 32 assists. They also broke tournament records for most points (105) and largest margin of victory (50).

Jacksonville, meanwhile, took down North Florida 83-77 in overtime to clinch a spot in Sunday's game. The Dolphins were down six with just over a minute left in regulation, tied it late on a pair of free throws and pulled away in the extra session.

RIVALRY CONTINUES
FGCU is 22-3 all-time against Jacksonville and have won three straight, but those have been by a combined 11 points. This is the fourth straight season the two programs have met in the ASUN tournament as the Eagles pulled out semifinal wins in 2015 and 2017, while the Dolphins upset FGCU in the championship game two years ago. Over the past six matchups, the Green and Blue hold a 4-2 advantage.

ASUN CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
FGCU is 18-2 (.900) all-time in ASUN tournament play, which is the best winning percentage among all conference teams - topping Jacksonville (16-13, .552) and Stetson (28-27, .509). No other program has won more than five games in the tournament's history. The Eagles are also 14-0 all-time in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the tournament.

Team - Record (Tournament Appearances)
FGCU - 18-2 (7)
Stetson - 28-27 (31)
Jacksonville - 16-13 (15)
Lipscomb - 5-10 (11)
North Florida - 5-7 (8)
USC Upstate - 2-7 (7)
Kennesaw State - 2-9 (9)
NJIT - 0-3 (3)

The No. 1 seed is 62-14 (.816) all-time in the ASUN tournament, while the No. 2 seed is 62-20 (.756). With FGCU's appearance this year, the top seed has advanced to the championship game in 26 of 33 ASUN tournaments all-time, including seven straight seasons. The Eagles, who won the tournament in 2011-12, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2016-17, can break a tie with Stetson (1988-89, 2004-05, 2010-11, 2012-13) for most ASUN tournament championships all-time with a win on Sunday.

2011-12: Defeated Stetson 67-39 to win the ASUN Championship
2012-13: Lost to Stetson in the finals
2013-14: Defeated Stetson 72-70 in OT to win the ASUN Championship
2014-15: Defeated Northern Kentucky 60-43 to win the ASUN Championship
2015-16: Lost to Jacksonville in the finals
2016-17: Defeated Stetson 77-70 to win the ASUN Championship

FGCU is one of four active ASUN members to win the ASUN tournament along with Stetson (1988-89, 2004-05, 2010-11, 2012-13), Jacksonville (2015-16) and Lipscomb (2003-04).

SEASON SERIES
FGCU won both regular season games over Jacksonville despite the absence of Tytionia Adderly for all but five minutes of both games. The sophomore forward, who leads the team with over nine rebounds per game and is the team's most versatile defender, went down with an injury in the early stages of the first game, but Erica Nelson (14), Nasrin Ulel (13), China Dow (12) and Rosemarie Julien (11) each scored double figures, while Nelson scored four points from the foul line, including a pair with 23 seconds left to give her team a five-point lead. She then blocked a 3-point attempt from Jacksonville, and the Eagles ran out the clock.

Nelson, once again, played a key role in the return matchup in Jacksonville as she made a steal in the final seconds to secure a two-point win. In that game, Dow (24) and Lisa Zderadicka (Vienna, Austria/HAK Korneuburg) (15) combined for nearly 40 points.

DOW FOR 1,000, PLEASE
Dow (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy of Louisville), a redshirt senior who started her career at Middle Tennessee, has not only scored 687 points in the Green and Blue, but she has 1,031 points in her NCAA career. She reached the career milestone after producing four points in the quarterfinal win over NJIT and joins Taylor Gradinjan as one of two 1,000 point club members on this year's team. She is averaging a career-high 11.6 points per game this year and eclipsed 500 career rebounds (526) five games ago.

ALICO IS ROCKIN'
FGCU is 246-18 all-time in games at Alico Arena dating back to the program's inception in 2002-03. Among those, the Eagles are 169-12 all-time in Division-I era contests and 90-2 in ASUN regular season games. In ASUN tournament games, the Green and Blue have recorded 12 wins in 13 contests.

This year, FGCU (17-0) has the most home wins without a loss among all Division-I teams and is just one of three Division-I schools in the country to win at least 16 games on its home court while also being undefeated - joining Baylor and Mississippi State.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SUCCESS
FGCU was one of only seven schools in the country entering this season which have had its men's and women's teams win at least 20 games in five-straight years, joining Duke, Louisville, Kentucky, Baylor, BYU and Saint Mary's.

Among those teams looking to make it six-straight seasons, here are the 2017-18 men's and women's basketball records for each school (entering games on March 10):

FGCU: 29-4 (w); 23-11 (m)
Duke: 22-8 (w); 26-7 (m)
Louisville: 32-2 (w); 20-13 (m)
Kentucky: 15-17 (w); 22-10 (m)
Baylor: 31-1 (w); 18-14 (m)
Saint Mary's: 20-10 (w); 28-5 (m)
BYU: 16-14 (w); 24-10 (m)

Additionally, with both the men's and women's teams winning at least 26 games last season, FGCU was one of only three non-Power 5 schools in the nation to boast that claim along with Gonzaga and Bucknell. In total, only nine schools had both its men's and women's basketball teams record at least 26 victories a year ago: Duke, Notre Dame, Michigan, South Carolina, Baylor and Florida State.

300 WINS AS DIVISION-I PROGRAM
After the program began in 2002-03 as an NAIA school, FGCU transitioned into a Division-II school and then became Division-I in 2007-08. Postseason eligibility began in 2011-12, and head coach Karl Smesko has been there for every season. In fact, during his time at FGCU, the program has compiled 15 seasons with 20 + wins, 12 seasons with 25 + wins and 4 seasons with 30 + wins. In fact, the program has recorded at least 25 wins in eight straight seasons and 20 or more in 13 consecutive years. Since becoming a Division-I program, the Eagles have not won fewer than 22 games, and they have never recorded a season with double digit losses in the program's entire history.

GOING STREAKING
FGCU has won nine straight games, which is the second longest of the season behind a 10-game streak Dec. 20 to Jan. 27. They have also won 19 of the past 20 and 23 of the past 25 games. Entering Saturday, the nine-game streak was tied for the 14th longest in the nation.

BEEN AT THIS A LONG TIME
In the 74-60 win over Stetson on the road to end the regular season, FGCU produced its 400th straight game with at least one made 3-point field goal. They have also made at least one 3-pointer in all but one game in the program's history, and the only time they didn't was on Feb. 21, 2006 in a 72-59 win over Lynn University in which the Eagles went 0-for-11 from 3-point range.

RARE AIR
FGCU women's basketball has produced eight straight seasons with at least 25 wins. They join UConn (32-0), Baylor (31-1) and Notre Dame (29-3) as one of only four schools to accomplish the feat thus far, while Stanford (22-10) and James Madison (21-10) also have a chance to join them.

In fact, with 29 wins, FGCU is tied for the eighth most in the nation with Green Bay and Notre Dame. The teams ahead of them include: Mississippi State (32), Louisville (32), UConn (32), Baylor (31), Belmont (31), Oregon (30) and Mercer (30).

NCAA RECORD CHASERS
This year's success has been, in large part, due to what is the most prolific 3-point shooting team in ASUN and program history, along with what may be the best 3-point shooting team in NCAA history. FGCU has made 402 3-pointers over 33 games this year, which is the most in ASUN and program history - and it's just 23 shy of breaking Sacramento State's Division-I record of 422 set in 2014-15. Three games ago, the Eagles passed the 2013-14 team (347) and the 2010-11 team (350) for second place. Then, they broke the record in the quarterfinal win over NJIT. The 2015-16 team previously held the top spot with 372, but they did so in 39 games.

3-Point Field Goals Made In A Single Season
1. 402 (33 games) - 2017-18
2. 372 (39 games) - 2015-16
3. 350 (32 games) - 2010-11
4. 347 (34 games) - 2013-14
5. 342 (32 games) - 2011-12
6. 338 (35 games) - 2016-17
6. 338 (34 games) - 2006-07
8. 327 (34 games) - 2014-15
9. 319 (34 games) - 2012-13
10. 317 (31 games) - 2009-10

Sacramento State also holds the NCAA record for most 3-point field goals per game at 12.5, which they set in 2014-15 and 2015-16. FGCU, though, is averaging a program record 12.2 3-point field goals per game, which is currently best in the nation and fourth best in NCAA Division-I history.

BLOCK PARTY
Nelson (Kansas City, Mo./Lee Summit North HS) had two blocks against Lipscomb, which gives her 23 in her career and ties her with Haley Laughter (23, 2013-17) for 11th most all-time. Brittany Kennedy (25, 2011-13) is in 10th place. Nelson also remains seventh in all-time assists per game at 3.0/contest.

TY'S FEATS
In terms of single season records, Adderly (Jupiter, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS) surpassed Sarah Hansen (256, 2012-13) for the most rebounds in a single season by any player in the program's Division-I era (2007-present) in the road win over Stetson. The sophomore forward, who had 255 as a freshman over 35 games, already has 284 over 31 this year. She also has the third most rebounds in a single season overall (including the non-Division-I era) behind Robyn Swain (320 in 2002-03 and 2003-04).

In addition to her season total, Adderly (Jupiter, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS) has double digit rebound totals in six of the past eight and eight of the past 11 games. She has recorded nine career double-doubles and 27 games with double-digit rebounds. Her double-double total is the third most in the Division-I era behind Sarah Hansen (20) and Whitney Knight (19). The overall leader is Robyn Swain, who had 28 from 2002-04 in the first two seasons of the program.

Among other active players, Dow (4) and Julien (2) have combined for six.

Adderly has also moved up to sixth place on the career rebounds list with 532. She remains on pace to become the program's first to 1,000 career rebounds. Sarah Hansen (887, 2009-14) is the all-time leader. Adderly also has 227 career offensive rebounds, which is fourth all-time behind Robyn Swain (236, 2002-04), Adrianne McNally (240, 2006-10) and Sarah Hansen (329, 2009-14). In NCAA play, she is ranked 13th in offensive rebounds per game.

30 FOR 5
With a win on Sunday, the Eagles would clinch the program's fifth 30-win season overall, the third in the past four seasons and the third in the Division-I era. The other seasons include: 2015-16, 2014-15, 2006-07 and 2002-03.

MARCH MADNESS
With this year's ASUN regular season championship, FGCU is at least guaranteed a WNIT bid. Despite higher aspirations with an NCAA Tournament bid on the line Sunday, the Eagles are guaranteed to extend the program's streak of consecutive postseason appearances to 11.

TOE THE LINE
Julien (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast HS) is 135-for-166 (.813) in her career from the free throw line, which is the second best percentage in program history behind Kelsey Jacobson (163-for-199, .819, 2008-12).

RESUME BUILDING
FGCU is currently 4-2 against NCAA RPI top 100 ranked teams, which includes victories over DePaul (20th), Harvard (51st) and Jacksonville (98th) twice. Two of the team's losses are also ranked within the top 100 - Ohio State (6th) and Belmont (57th), while another is just outside the top 100 - Chattanooga (108th).

Also, the Green and Blue received 25 votes in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll, which is the 26th most in the nation and just three shy of No. 25 Belmont. Thus, with a tournament championship this weekend, the Eagles have a decent chance to move back into the top-25. Three weeks ago, the Eagles were ranked 25th, marking the first time the program had been ranked in one of the two major polls since March 2015.

SMESKO AGAINST THE ASUN
Against current ASUN member schools, FGCU head coach Karl Smesko holds a 139-12 (.921) record, including at least 20 wins against Lipscomb (23-0), Stetson (23-4), North Florida (22-3), Kennesaw State (22-2) and Jacksonville (22-3).  He is also 19-2 against USC Upstate and 8-0 against NJIT.

In addition to that, Smesko holds a 49-5 record against former ASUN members such as ETSU (12-2, 2007-14), Mercer (15-0, 2007-14), Northern Kentucky (6-1, 2012-15), Gardner Webb (2-0, 2007-08), Campbell (7-0, 2007-11) and Belmont (7-2, 2007-12). In fact, he ended Northern Kentucky's ASUN tenure with a 60-43 victory in the conference championship game on March 15, 2015.

The records against Belmont and NJIT are only in conference games and does not include the outcome of this year's game against Belmont in Las Vegas or the 2008 meeting against NJIT.

MARCH WARRIORS
Since the inception of its Division-I era in 2007-08, FGCU is 38-11 (.776) in the month of March. Including this year, the team is 21-4 over the past five campaigns alone.

MID MAJOR RANKS
FGCU is ranked in the top five of both mid-major polls - CollegeInsider.com and espnW. Prior to the road loss to UNF, they were No. 1 in both the first time since November 2015. The Eagles appeared at the top of the CollegeInsider.com poll for five straight weeks at one point, while they were at the top of the bi-weekly espnW poll two times in a row.

FLYING HIGH
FGCU was the final Division-I school in the nation to feature an undefeated conference record for both its women's and men's basketball teams.

FOOL ME ONCE...
FGCU's latest win over Jacksonville prevented the Eagles from losing back-to-back games in ASUN play. They haven't lost two in a row in conference play since Jan. 5 and Jan. 8, 2009 vs Belmont and ETSU - a span of over nine years.

MAGIC NUMBER
FGCU is 28-0 this year when forcing 15 + turnovers. The semifinal vs Lipscomb was the first time the Eagles didn't produce at least 15 turnovers in a win.

TAY-GRAD BREAKING RECORDS
Gradinjan (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy HS), who has played in 145 career games and recently became the program's all-time leader by breaking a tie with Jaime Gluesing (140, 2012-16), is the current NCAA leader among active players in games played - one ahead of UConn's Gabby Williams. She also has the second most starts of all-time in program history with 123 behind Sarah Hansen (131, 2009-14).

In addition to those records, Gradinjan (298-for-798) moved into sole possession of second place in program history in 3-point field goals made and attempted. She surpassed Whitney Knight (294-for-791, 2011-16) in both categories and now only trails Kelsey Jacobson (330-for-846, 2008-12) in both. In terms of total field goals, Gradinjan is 421-for-1047 in her career. She surpassed Stephanie Haas (413, 2012-16) for fifth place all-time in made field goals, and she is 27 shy of Kaneisha Atwater (1,073, 2013-16) for the fourth most attempts.

Furthermore, Gradinjan has now played 3,681 minutes, but she is 197 away from passing Sarah Hansen (3,877, 2009-14) for the all-time lead.

In terms of career rebounds, Gradinjan (489) is eighth all-time. She also ranks sixth in defensive rebounds (373).

THREE-TANI
Jessica Cattani (Muskego, Wis./Muskego HS) still leads all ASUN players in 3-point field goal percentage at 43.8 percent (49-for-112). Her 48 made 3-point field goals is eighth among all ASUN players, and she has pushed her career total to 108, which is eight shy of passing Megan Jones (115, 2002-05) and moving into the top 10 all-time in career 3-point field goals made in program history.

SCORING IN BUNCHES
Despite going scoreless in the semifinal win over Lipscomb, Julien has at least 15 points in five of the past six games and has tallied double digits in 24 of 33 games this year. She tied her season-high with 25 points against Stetson in the regular season finale, and in just 68 career games since transferring from Chipola College, Julien (Port. St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast HS) has scored 824 points, which gives her the 13th most career points in program history. She surpassed Eglah Griffin (813, 2009-12) with her 16 points against NJIT in the quarterfinal and is 16 points shy of passing Chelsea Lyles (839, 2008-10) for 12th.

In the regular season finale over Stetson, Julien moved into the top 10 for most in program history, and she has the ninth best career field goal percentage (.457, 285-for-623) - just two spots behind China Dow, who is 247-for-519 (.476). Also, she sits sixth all-time in career scoring average at 12.1 PPG - 0.3 behind Kaneisha Atwater's 12.4 per contest from 2013-16.

SOPHOMORE SENSATION
Ulel (Murrietta, Calif./Murrietta HS) has made at least one 3-pointer in the past seven games and scored 10 or more points in six of those, including five straight. She has 16 games of double digit points this year.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
- Jacksonville's 24 wins is a single season program record.

- This is the second championship game appearance in three years for the Dolphins. They upset FGCU by two points in 2015-16.

- On March 2, Kayla Gordon became the only player in program history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Earlier this season, she became the program's all-time leading rebounder.

- On top of her two career milestones, Gordon has 31 career double-doubles, including 11 this year.

- In addition to Gordon, Brandi Buie has reached 1,000 career points, and she achieved it on Jan. 13 against Lipscomb. Combined, those two comprise 20 percent of the program's 10 all-time 1,000 point scorers.

- Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has improved her team's win total from 13 in her first year to 24 this season. In fact, she's won 22, 23 and now 24 in the past three years.

COACH SMESKO
FGCU head coach Karl Smesko rallied the 2016-17 Eagles to their seventh-straight 25-win campaign, which culminated in the team's fourth NCAA tournament appearance in six seasons of eligibility. The seven-time ASUN Coach of the Year was named the espnW Mid-Major Coach of the Year in 2015-16 following a run that witnessed the Eagles finish a best-ever 33-6. Over a five-year stretch starting in 2011-12, FGCU racked up four ASUN seasons with a perfect record and capped the run with back-to-back 30 plus win seasons. In 2014-15, the team earned its first top-25 ranking and another NCAA Tournament trip as a seven seed, where FGCU won its first ever NCAA Division-I Tournament game against No. 10 Oklahoma State. Including this year, Smesko has guided the Eagles to 14-straight 20-win seasons. He maintains a record of 433-86 (.834) at FGCU, including a 170-16 (.914) mark in ASUN play. Over the past six + seasons, he has guided FGCU to a 105-4 (.963) record in conference play with four undefeated seasons. Smesko earned his 400th career coaching win in 2014-15 in just 493 career games, two games faster than UConn's Geno Auriemma. He holds a career head coaching record of 494-113 (.813). Smesko ranks among an elite list of just four active Division I coaches with a career win percentage of .800 or higher, joining Auriemma, Baylor's Kim Mulkey and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer in the esteemed group.
