FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women's basketball team (25-4, 11-1 ASUN) will look to continue an unprecedented offensive stretch in the team's regular season home finale against Kennesaw State on Monday at 7 p.m. in Alico Arena.

The athletic department will welcome a large contingent of people for Grandezza Night and fans are encouraged to wear white as part of a White Out. In addition, it is Play4Kay Night. The marketing department will be selling "Beat Cancer" pink shirts. All proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

THE GREEN AND BLUE
FGCU will look to clinch at least a share of the ASUN regular season championship and secure home court advantage throughout the ASUN Championship with a victory on Monday. The Eagles would then have a chance to win the title outright at Stetson on Feb. 24 in the final regular season game.

The Green and Blue enter Monday having won five straight, 16 of the past 17 and 20 of the past 22 games.

The Eagles have scored at least 88 points in three consecutive games, which is a first for the program in the Division-I era. The last time it happened was a five-game stretch from Jan. 6 through Feb. 2 in 2007 when the program competed at the Division-II level. During the stretch, the Green and Blue has made at least 17 3-point field goals in each game while shooting 91-for-201 (.453) overall and 54-for-135 (.400) from 3-point range with 78 assists. Thus, the team has assisted on 85.7 percent of its field goals over the past three games. In the 26 games prior, FGCU had assisted on 58.3 percent of its field goals.

With the win over Lipscomb on Saturday, FGCU picked up its eighth straight season with at least 25 wins. They joined UConn (26-0), Baylor (25-1) and Notre Dame (25-2) as one of only four schools to accomplish the feat thus far, while Stanford (19-9) and James Madison (18-8) also have a chance to join them.

In fact, with those 25 wins, FGCU is tied for the fifth most in the nation with Baylor (25-1) and Mercer (25-2). The teams ahead of them include Mississippi State (27-0), Louisville (27-2), UConn (26-0) and Belmont (26-3). Oregon (24-4) will have a chance at its 25th win on Monday.

This year's success has been, in large part, due to what will likely become the most prolific 3-point shooting team in program history. FGCU has made 344 3-pointers over 29 games this year, which is already the fourth most in a single season. On Monday, they'll likely move up two more spots by eclipsing the 2013-14 team (347) and the 2010-11 team (350). The 2015-16 team holds the top spot with 372, but they did so in 39 games. In fact, the 2013-14 team accomplished their total in 34 games, while the 2010-11 team did so in 32 games - giving FGCU at least three games to record the most of any team in program history with equal or fewer games played. Furthermore, the team has currently played at least two fewer games than any other team in the top 10.

3-Point Field Goals Made In A Single Season
1. 372 (39 games) - 2015-16
2. 350 (32 games) - 2010-11
3. 347 (34 games) - 2013-14
4. 344 (29 games) - 2017-18
5. 342 (32 games) - 2011-12
6. 338 (35 games) - 2016-17
6. 338 (34 games) - 2006-07
8. 327 (34 games) - 2014-15
9. 319 (34 games) - 2012-13
10. 317 (31 games) - 2009-10

Also, in terms of single season records, Tytionia Adderly is just 11 rebounds shy of producing the most of any player in the program's Division-I era. The sophomore forward, who had 255 as a freshman over 35 games, already has 246 over 27 this year. She currently has the fifth most in a single season overall behind last year's total and is just 10 behind Sarah Hansen (256, 2012-13). Robyn Swain (320 in 2002-03 and 2003-04) holds the top two single season totals, but those both occurred prior to the Division-I era beginning in 2007-08.

In addition to her season total, Adderly (Jupiter, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS) has four straight games with double-digit rebounding totals. She has recorded nine career double-doubles, including two over the past three games, and 26 with double-digit rebounds.

FGCU received 20 votes in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll, which is the 28th most in the nation. In fact, they still have a decent chance to move back into the top-25 before the end of the regular season as No. 24 DePaul and West Virginia (30 votes) both lost this week. Two weeks ago, the Eagles were ranked 25th, marking the first time the program had been ranked in one of the two major polls since March 2015.

With her nine points in Saturday's win over Lipscomb, China Dow has now compiled 624 points in an FGCU uniform and 968 in her NCAA career. She is averaging a career-high 11.1 points per game this year and eclipsed 500 career rebounds (503) in the last game. Should she reach 1,000 points, Dow would join Taylor Gradinjan as one of two players on this year's team to accomplish the feat.

Gradinjan (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy HS), meanwhile, produced her ninth game with at least four made 3-pointers this year against Lipscomb. More importantly, though, she became the program's all-time leader in games played by breaking a tie with Jaime Gluesing (140, 2012-16). She also made her 119th start, which broke a tie with Adrianne McNally (118, 2006-10) for the second most all-time behind Sarah Hansen (131, 2009-14).

In addition to those records, Gradinjan is third all-time in 3-point field goals made (284) and attempted (766). She sits behind Whitney Knight (294-for-791, 2011-16) in both categories. In terms of total field goals, she is 404-for-1008 in her career. Those totals make her sixth in field goals made and fifth in attempts. She is 10 made field goals shy of passing Stephanie Haas (413, 2012-16) for fifth place, and she is 66 shy of Kaneisha Atwater (1,073, 2013-16) for the fourth most attempts.

Furthermore, Gradinjan has now played 3,582 minutes, eclipsing Shannon Murphy (3,581, 2007-11) for third place and sitting 40 shy of passing DyTiesha Dunson (3,621, 2012-16) for second. Sarah Hansen (3,877, 2009-14) remains the all-time leader.

In terms of career rebounds, Gradinjan (474) has some company on the current roster with Adderly, who is up to 501 after another double-digit performance. The duo is seventh and eighth all-time in total rebounds, while Adderly remains on pace to become the program's first to 1,000 career rebounds. Sarah Hansen (887, 2009-14) is the all-time leader, while Adderly is eight away from eclipsing Kaneisha Atwater's (508, 2013-16) sixth place total.

Adderly also has 210 career offensive rebounds, which is fourth all-time behind Robyn Swain (236, 2002-04) and Adrianne McNally (240, 2006-10). Sarah Hansen (329, 2009-14) is the program's all-time leader in that category as well.

Jessica Cattani (Muskego, Wis./Muskego HS), who leads the ASUN in 3-point field goal percentage at 45.2 percent (47-for-104), made a career-high six 3-pointers for the second consecutive game on Saturday. Her 47 made 3-point field goals is the eighth most among all ASUN players, and she has pushed her career total to 105, which is 11 shy of passing Megan Jones (115, 2002-05) and moving into the top 10 all-time in career 3-point field goals made in program history.

Rosemarie Julien went 5-for-12 from 3-point range against Lipscomb, and it marked the third time this year she has made at least five in a game, including her career-high six against FIU on Nov. 25. She has 17 points in back-to-back games, and she has tallied double digits in 21 of 29 games this year.

In just 64 career games since transferring from Chipola College, Julien (Port. St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast HS) has scored 768 points, which gives her the 14th most career points in program history. She is two starts shy of moving into the top 10 for most in program history, she has the ninth best career field goal percentage (.455, 266-for-585) - just two spots behind China Dow (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy of Louisville), who is 223-for-483 (.462), and she sits seventh all-time in career scoring average at 12.0 PPG.

FGCU is now 14-0 this year in Alico Arena, and they've compiled a 25-0 record this year when forcing at least 15 turnovers.

SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE
Kennesaw State is led by its second-year head coach Agnus Berenato, who has compiled a 461-449 record in 31 years overall. Her previous stops have included four years at Rider University, 15 at Georgia Tech and 10 at Pitt. She has led her teams to six WNIT appearances, including a championship in 1991-92, and five NCAA Tournament appearances, including back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances at Pitt in 2007-08 and 2008-09.

The Owls are led on the floor by freshman Kamiyah Street, who is averaging 16.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game while shooting .401 from the field and .705 from the foul line. She is a five-time ASUN freshman of the week and she has earned the ASUN player of the week and newcomer of the week awards once apiece. In ASUN games alone, she is averaging 17.4 points, six rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.7 steals. She produced a career-high 27 points against Furman and has three double-doubles, including one against FGCU earlier this season. Overall, she has double digits in 20 of 22 games, including eight 20-point efforts. She came to Kennesaw State as a two-time Atlanta Journal-Constitution Georgia 6A Player of the Year, and she holds the Mays HS career record for points with 3,096.

Carlotta Gianolla, who is the lone sophomore on Kennesaw State's team, is the second leading scorer for the Owls with averages of 10 points and 4.6 rebounds. She produced a career-high 29 points against Jacksonville on Feb. 20 of last year, and she recorded season-highs in points (19) and rebounds (9) against Presbyterian. She has started the past 19 games and reached double figures in scoring 13 times.

Alexis Poole, who is one of five freshmen on Kennesaw State's roster this year, is averaging 9.7 points and eight rebounds per game over 14 starts this year. She had a career-high 21 points against North Florida and has recorded six career double-doubles. She has led the Owls in rebounding in 14 of 20 games.

Outside of those three, Clara Young (7.6 PPG) is the only player averaging over 3.9 points per contest. Young is the lone senior on the roster and serves as the team captain. She sits No. 2 on Kennesaw State's Division-I era career assist list with 245, while ranking ninth in steals (102), fifth in games started and fifth in 3-point field goals made (95). She began her NCAA Division-I career at Samford.

The 2017-18 season represents Kennesaw State's 13th at the NCAA Division-I level. They are 140-237 (.371) since the 2005-06 season.

SERIES HISTORY
FGCU is 21-2 all-time against Kennesaw State, including 15 consecutive victories dating back to Jan. 4, 2012. The most recent win came on Jan. 20 of this year with a 78-57 win in Kennesaw. The Eagles are 10-0 at home and the last loss in series history for the Green and Blue came on Valentine's Day in 2011.

In the win earlier this year, Julien scored a game-high 19 points. Gradinjan finished just one rebound shy of her first career double-double by registering 12 points and nine rebounds. Lisa Zderadicka (Vienna, Austria/HAK Korneuburg) chipped in 11 points, while Dow had 10. Adderly had a game-high 10 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass.

ASUN CHAMPIONSHIP SEEDING SCENARIOS
FGCU (11-1 ASUN) can clinch the top seed in the ASUN Championship and home court advantage throughout with a win on Monday. Jacksonville (10-2 ASUN) has already clinched, at worst, the second seed and can claim the top spot should they win out and FGCU drop the final two games.

Stetson (7-5 ASUN) can clinch the three seed with a win over Lipscomb (6-6 ASUN) on Monday. USC Upstate (5-7 ASUN), North Florida (4-8 ASUN), Kennesaw State (3-9 ASUN) and NJIT (2-10 ASUN) round out the 5-8 seeds currently. Kennesaw State needs one more win or one more loss by NJIT to clinch the seventh seed due to its season sweep of the Highlanders.

Thus, if FGCU wins on Monday and NJIT loses to Jacksonville, the Eagles will host the Highlanders in an ASUN quarterfinal on March 2.

Also, due to its intended departure from the ASUN for the Big South beginning in 2018-19, the conference has removed USC Upstate from consideration for hosting any tournament games this year.

ASUN TEAM LEADERS
As a team, FGCU leads the ASUN in assist/turnover ratio (1.37), assists (481), assists per game (16.6), fewest turnovers (351), field goal percentage (43.3), scoring margin (18.2), scoring offense (77.8), steals (277), steals per game (9.6), 3-point field goals attempted (976), 3-point field goals made (344), 3-point field goals per game (11.9), 3-point field goal percentage (35.2), turnover margin (7.07) turnovers forced (19.17), fewest turnovers per game (12.1) and win-loss percentage (86.2).

Kennesaw State leads the ASUN in fewest fouls committed with 436.

Play4Kay
Monday's game promotes the Play4Kay initiative, a grassroots fundraising campaign for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Play4Kay's primary fundraising support comes from women's basketball teams across the country that dedicate games throughout the season to raise funds and awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The charity was founded in 2007 from the vision of the organization's namesake Kay Yow, a former N.C. State head women's basketball coach who endured three bouts with breast cancer. Despite the disease, she coached for 38 years, recording more than 700 wins, making 20 NCAA Tournament appearances, 11 trips to the Sweet 16 and a Final Four berth in 1998. In 1988, she coached the United States to an Olympic gold medal. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 before succumbing to the disease on January 24, 2009. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund has since raised more than $5.28 million for women's cancer research and to assist the underserved. For her achievements on and off the court, Coach Yow is enshrined in both the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

COACH SMESKO
FGCU head coach Karl Smesko rallied the 2016-17 Eagles to their seventh-straight 25-win campaign, which culminated in the team's fourth NCAA tournament appearance in six seasons of eligibility. The seven-time ASUN Coach of the Year was named the espnW Mid-Major Coach of the Year in 2015-16 following a run that witnessed the Eagles finish a best-ever 33-6. Over a five-year stretch starting in 2011-12, FGCU racked up four ASUN seasons with a perfect record and capped the run with back-to-back 30 plus win seasons. In 2014-15, the team earned its first top-25 ranking and another NCAA Tournament trip as a seven seed, where FGCU won its first ever NCAA Division-I Tournament game against No. 10 Oklahoma State. Including this year, Smesko has guided the Eagles to 14-straight 20-win seasons. He maintains a record of 429-86 (.833) at FGCU, including a 167-16 (.913) mark in ASUN play. Over the past six + seasons, he has guided FGCU to a 103-4 (.963) record in conference play with four undefeated seasons. Smesko earned his 400th career coaching win in 2014-15 in just 493 career games, two games faster than UConn's Geno Auriemma. He holds a career head coaching record of 490-113 (.813). Smesko ranks among an elite list of just four active Division I coaches with a career win percentage of .800 or higher, joining Auriemma, Baylor's Kim Mulkey and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer in the esteemed group.
