NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The FGCU women's basketball team (18-3, 4-0 ASUN) will look for its ninth straight win against Lipscomb (6-13, 2-2 ASUN) on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Eagles have never lost to Lipscomb, having won all 20 matchups in series history. Of those 20, nine have come in Nashville. In fact, FGCU has scored 90 plus points in each of the past three outings against the Bisons, and they set a Division-I era record with 108 points in the Feb. 27, 2014 matchup.Â
Following Monday's game, FGCUÂ returns home Saturday to face Jacksonville in a potential first-place battle at 4 p.m.

THE GREEN AND BLUE
FGCUÂ is coming off a 78-57 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday. In the game,
Rosemarie Julien scored a game-high 19 points and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line to surpass
Kelsey Jacobson (.819, 2008-12) for the program's best career free throw percentage at .821.
Julien (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast HS), who scored 17 points against Lipscomb in the team's first of two matchups with Lipscomb last year, has reached double figures in scoring in each of the past four games. She's 26 points from 300 this year and 40 points from 700 in her career at FGCU, which has spanned 56 games - all of which have been starts.
Lisa Zderadicka (Vienna, Austria/HAK Korneuburg), who bumped her ASUN scoring average into double figures with 11 points against Kennesaw State, is battling with
Erica Nelson for the team-high in assists. The point guard duo are both averaging 2.9 per contest, while
Nelson (Kansas City, Mo./Lee Summit North HS) has one more total assist. Both are among the top 10 in the ASUNÂ in dishing it out.
Tytionia Adderly, who continues to average more rebounds per game than any other player in the program's Division-I era, is 11 boards shy of surpassing
Taylor Gradinjan (448) for seventh on the career list, and her 181 career offensive rebounds is three shy of passing
Courtney Chihil (183, 2008-12) and six shy of
Kaneisha Atwater (186, 2013-16) for eighth and seventh place, respectively, in that category. Incredibly, 87 of
Adderly's (Jupiter, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS) 182 rebounds this year have come on the offensive end, which includes her career-high nine on Saturday.
Gradinjan (Cudahy, Wis./Cudahy HS), meanwhile, needs three more games played to surpass
Katie Meador (135, 2012-16) for third most in program history and is eight starts shy of eclipsing
Adrianne McNally (118, 2006-10) for second most in that category. Furthermore, she is 164 minutes shy of fifth place in the program, which is currently held by Courtney Chihil (3501, 2008-12), and she needs eight more made field goals shy of passing
Kelsey Jacobson (384, 2008-12) for seventh place. In terms of field goal attempts, she needs four more to pass
Stephanie Haas (945, 2012-16) for seventh most.
SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
FGCU's primary focus on Monday will be to contain Lipscomb's senior guard Loren Cagle, who ranks second in the ASUN in scoring (16.7 PPG) and assists (4.2 APG), as well as third in steals (2.1 SPG) and 3-point field goal percentage (38.9) and 10th in rebounding (5.6 RPG). She has scored 26 or more points in four of her team's past eight games, including a season-high 31 in a four-point win over North Florida on Jan. 15.
In addition to Cagle, redshirt freshman forward Emily Kmec is averaging 10 points on 34.8 percent shooting from 3-point range. She has at least two made 3-point field goals in all but five games this year, and she's made three or more nine times. Riley Northway, a senior forward, is the team's third leading scorer at 8.6 per game. She is sixth in the ASUN in field goal percentage (47.3) and has reached double figures in seven of the past 11 games, which includes a season-high 18 against Murray State.
Despite not having much size, FGCU should be able to control the boards against Lipscomb as the Bisons are getting out rebounded by nearly 13 per game - 45.5 to 32.9. Their top rebounder, Cagle, averages 5.6 per game, and she's the only one checking in over five.
ASUNÂ TEAM LEADERS
As a team, FGCU leads the ASUN in assist/turnover ratio (1.30), assists (334), assists per game (15.9), fewest turnovers (256), field goal percentage (43.5), scoring margin (17.5), scoring offense (78.8), steals (198), steals per game (9.4), 3-point field goals attempted (711), 3-point field goals made (248), 3-point field goals per game (11.8), 3-point field goal percentage (34.9), turnover margin (7.3), fewest turnovers per game (12.2) and win-loss percentage (85.7).
Lipscomb does not lead the ASUN in any categories, but they're the second best team in the conference behind FGCU in 3-point field goals attempted, 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goals per game. They also don't turn the ball over much - ranking second in assist to turnover ratio (0.85) and fewest turnovers per game (14.5).

COACHÂ SMESKO
FGCU head coach Karl Smesko rallied the 2016-17 Eagles to their seventh-straight 25-win campaign, which culminated in the team's fourth NCAA tournament appearance in six seasons of eligibility. The seven-time ASUN Coach of the Year was named the espnW Mid-Major Coach of the Year in 2015-16 following a run that witnessed the Eagles finish a best-ever 33-6. Over a five-year stretch starting in 2011-12, FGCU racked up four ASUN seasons with a perfect record and capped the run with back-to-back 30 plus win seasons. In 2014-15, the team earned its first top-25 ranking and another NCAA Tournament trip as a seven seed, where FGCU won its first ever NCAA Division-I Tournament game against No. 10 Oklahoma State. With 26 wins in 2016-17, Smesko has guided the Eagles to 13-straight 20-win seasons. He maintains a record of 422-85 (.832) at FGCU, including a 161-15 (.915) mark in ASUN play. Over the past six + seasons, he has guided FGCU to a 97-3 (.970) record in conference play with four undefeated seasons. Smesko earned his 400th career coaching win in 2014-15 in just 493 career games, two games faster than UConn's Geno Auriemma. He holds a career head coaching record of 483-112 (.811). Smesko ranks among an elite list of just four active Division I coaches with a career win percentage of .800 or higher, joining Auriemma, Baylor's Kim Mulkey and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer in the esteemed group.
