FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU baseball team (24-22-1, 7-7 A-Sun) will be looking to return to its winning ways this weekend when it welcomes Northern Kentucky (17-27, 5-10 A-Sun) to Swanson Stadium on senior weekend. The Eagles will honor its six graduating seniors prior to Sunday's series finale with the Norse and will also pay tribute to all the mothers on Mother's Day.

NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky will come to town to wrap up the home slate for the 2015 regular season, May 8-10. The Eagles have never lost to NKU in six meetings and the Norse posted a 14-37 record last year with a 6-21 record in the A-Sun. So far this season, NKU is 17-27 with a 5-10 record in A-Sun play.

THE SENIORS
#1 ADAM EGGNATZ

Eggnatz (Tampa, Fla./Middle Georgia College) came to FGCU as a junior last season and appeared in 44 games, making nine starts before securing an everyday role this season. As a senior Eggnatz has produced a .305 batting average with 46 hits, five doubles, two triples and 19 RBI while slugging .364. He has also walked 17 times and stolen 9 bags in 10 tries. Eggnatz has also proven to be a valuable asset for the Eagles out of the bullpen, making four appearances this season and producing a 2.84 ERA over 6.1 innings. He has struck out six batters and combined with 2.0 innings of relief last season has held opponents to just two runs in 8.1 career innings of relief.

#6 NICK DECKERT
Deckert (Tallahassee, Fla./Tallahassee CC) has been one of the leading arms of the FGCU pitching staff over the last two seasons. Last season, Deckert posted a 7-5 record in 15 starts and produced a 3.72 ERA over 82.1 innings while striking out 76 against just 19 walks. This season the senior has made four starts and produced a 3.38 ERA to go with 26 punch outs. The signature moment of his senior season came when he took the mound in his home town of Tallahassee opposite No. 7 Florida State and tossed 5.1 shutout innings, striking out four to earn the victory.

#16 BLAKE BERGER
Berger (Jacksonville, Fla./Santa Fe College) has served as the primary back-stop for the Eagles during both of his seasons in the Green and Blue. As a junior, Berger took over as the everyday catcher midway through the season and ran to a .307 batting average over 27 games, driving in 19 runs and producing an on base percentage of .419. This season, in 31 appearances, the senior is hitting .284 with seven doubles and eight RBI while reaching base at a .351 clip. He has also gunned down six would-be base stealers from behind the plate.

#20 BRYAN VOELKL
Voelkl (Bradenton, Fla./SCOF) has been a valuable asset behind the plate for the Green and Blue during his two-year tenure. The Bradenton native has made nine starts behind the dish this season and appeared 21 times. As one of the best defensive options FGCU has, Voelkl has thrown out three runners this year and helped to manage a pitching staff that ranks first in the A-Sun with a 3.85 ERA.

#26 JACK ENGLISH
Jack English (Delray Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS)
has been an mainstay of the FGCU pitching staff for four seasons, serving as both a starter and a reliever and producing in both roles. As a freshman English appeared in 14 games and made one start, striking out 14 batters. He made a leap his sophomore year, making 17 relief appearances and producing a team-best 2.43 ERA with a 1-2 record. He would hold opponents to a .170 batting average and strike out 33 over 29.2 innings. As junior the Delray Beach native transitioned into a starting role and would make 13 starts, posting a 4-4 record with a 3.00 ERA in 75.0 innings. Was clutch when his team needed him the most as he did not allow a hit until the 7th inning versus Jacksonville in the 2014 A-Sun Tournament, and his only two hits allowed on the evening both careened off FGCU defenders. He was sporadic at times as he walked four and hit two more, but the right hander battled through several early jams and after tossing 136 pitches he wrapped up his first career complete game victory. So far this season Jack has appeared in 12 games and struck out 17 batters over 16.0 innings.

#39 ANDRIS GONZALEZ
Gonzalez (Miami, Fla./Indian River State College) has been one of the primary left-handed arms out of the pen for FGCU during his two seasons in the Green and Blue. Last season he appeared in 17 games and retired seven batters via the strikeout over 9.1 innings on the hill. So far this season he has tossed 5.0 innings in eight appearances and has record four strikeouts and just one run while recording the first save of his career.

LAST TIME OUT
FGCU got a great performance on the mound from Brady Anderson but struggled at the plate in a 4-1 loss to Lipscomb (30-15, 9-6 A-Sun) on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles dropped all three games in the series with the Bisons and fall to 7-7 in the A-Sun.

Anderson (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto HS) cruised through 8.0 innings on the mound, allowing just five hits and one earned run while striking out two. A couple of errors in the field led to base runners that came around to score resulting in two more runs. Brady's younger brother Garrett Anderson (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto HS) came out of the pen to pitch the ninth and gave up one more run to settle Lipscomb's tally at four.

At the plate, only Adam Eggnatz managed multiple hits, going 2-3 with a bunt single and a single to center. Nick Rivera (Cape Coral, Fla./Bishop Verot HS) went 1-4 with a double and drove in the only FGCU run in the ninth. Three hits for FGCU tie a season-low after collecting just four hits on Saturday.

TYLER SELESKY
For the first time in his career, following a career weekend at the plate against UMass, Estero, Fla. native and FGCU third baseman Tyler Selesky (Estero, Fla./Estero HS) was been chosen at the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week.

Selesky came into the series with UMass with just a .299 batting average but would go 3-5 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored, a walk and four RBI in the first game of the series. He exceeded those numbers in the first of two games on Saturday when he became the first FGCU player this season to register five hits in a single game. Three of those hits were doubles and he would finish with four runs scored and three more RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, the junior went 3-5 with another double, another run scored and three more RBI, giving him 10 for the weekend. On Sunday he singled in the first for his only hit then walked in the ninth before scoring on Rivera's walk-off homerun.

Selesky now ranks third on the team with a .328 batting average and has 57 hits this season, 10 doubles and 32 RBI with an on-base percentage of .430. He is tied for second on the team with 29 walks and ranks third in the nation with 17 sacrifice bunts. The Estero native became the second FGCU player, alongside Rivera to be named A-Sun Player of the Week and the fourth player on the roster to earn a weekly award this season. Mike Murray and Brady Anderson have already claimed A-Sun Pitcher of the Week distinctions.

MIKE MURRAY
Murray (West Palm Beach, Fla./Forrest Hill HS) pitched brilliantly in his start against Lipscomb last weekend despite taking the loss in a 1-0 game. He would go 8.0 innings on the hill with seven strikeouts and did not allow an earned run. He would go 6.0 innings opposite UMass and needed just 63 pitches to do so. He would give up four hits and one unearned run while striking out six. His strikeout total of 84, which is a career-high, ranks above all other A-Sun pitchers.

He would earn his fourth win of the season against UMass, giving him 22 for his career and leaving him three wins short of tying the FGCU all-time record of 25 currently held by FGCU pitching coach Pete Woodworth and 2007 New York Yankees draft pick Jason Kiley.

HEAD COACH MATCHUP
In 13 seasons of work, FGCU head coach Dave Tollett has compiled a 458-259-3 record as the only head coach in the program's history. He will match up with Todd Asalon who is in his 15 season at the helm of the Norse. During that time Asalon has compiled a 456-356-1 record.

NICK RIVERA
The Cape Coral, Fla. native has provided the power and run production in the middle of the FGCU lineup this season with a team-high .361 batting average to go with 54 RBI and nine homeruns, all of which rank top five in the A-Sun. He has doubled 16 times to lead the Eagles and rank second in the league while boasting a .620 slugging percentage and a .463 on base percentage.

Rivera went 7-13 at the dish during a four game stretch opposite No. 7 Florida State and Jacksonville a couple weeks ago. He posted a .412 batting average for the week and sprayed two doubles to go with a pair of home runs. He also drove in six runs and walked six times to build a .565 on base percentage. He would slug 1.000 or better in four of the Eagles five games.

In the series finale with Jacksonville he went 3-5, scoring once and driving in three including a pair of RBI's to clinch the game in the 10th inning on a double to deep center. In the Eagles' win at Florida State the junior set the tone offensively for FGCU as he went 1-3 with a homerun, two RBI and a pair of runs scored.

The Eagles would erase a four-run deficit over the final two innings opposite UMass in the series finale, capped by Rivera's walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. Rivera went 2-4 in the game.

JAKE NOLL
Noll (Punta Gorda, Fla./Charlotte HS), the Preseason Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, has not missed a beat this season after his record-setting freshman campaign that earned him the distinction of National Freshman Player of the Year. He is hitting .344 as the Eagles' No. 4 hitter behind Rivera and has driven in a career-high 31 runs to go with 15 stolen bases. He has also doubled five times and tripled once while spending most of his time at second base in 45 starts.

FRESHMEN
FGCU has found success by leaning on a collection of freshmen this season after losing some key contributors to graduation and the MLB draft following the record-setting 2014 season. Zach Spivey (Ormond Beach, Fla./Spruce Creek HS) and Matt Reardon (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) have been the most impactful with a combined 90 starts between them. Spivey has served as the primary center fielder for the Green and Blue while Reardon has moved over to shortstop after spending the first part of the season as the second baseman. Spivey is hitting .290 in his debut campaign with eight doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI while Reardon is hitting .305 in the leadoff spot with 21 RBI and six doubles.

SOPHOMORE RELIEVERS
Garrett Anderson (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto HS) and Sterling Koerner (Fort Pierce, Fla./John Carrol HS) emerged as the top arms out of the bullpen for FGCU a year ago and carried over those roles into this season as the two have combined to make 35 total appearances while Koerner has made one start. Only weekend starters Mike Murray, Brady Anderson and Jordan Desguin have thrown more innings than Koerner who has been brilliant in his sophomore season, tossing 48.1 frames with a 3.17 ERA and a career-high 43 strikeouts which rank fourth on the team, tops among relievers, against a staggeringly low three walks. The Fort Pierce native has built a 5-3 record with one save while holding opponents to a .259 mark at the plate. Garrett has produced a 3.38 ERA with a 3-3 record and an FGCU best three saves. He has collected 23 punch outs and just six walks while holding opponents to 11 earned runs over 29.1 innings.

#DRAFTCITY
The Eagles would have a total of three players taken in the 2014 MLB draft, Junior outfielder Michael Suchy (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast HS), Junior third-baseman/pitcher Zack Tillery (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier HS) and Redshirt-Junior, left-handed reliever Ryan Atwood (Austin, Texas/Westwood HS/Navarro College). The Eagles have now produced 22 draft picks in their history with the most notable being 2014 AL Cy Young Award Finalist and three-time All-Star Chris Sale who was chosen in the first round, 13th overall by the Chicago White Sox in 2010. Suchy became the second-highest FGCU player ever taken when he went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round in last June's draft and is one of just seven players in FGCU history to be chosen in the top ten rounds. The Eagles would have a program record seven players selected during the 2013 draft. Freshman left-hander Devin Smeltzer is the lone FGCU player on the roster this season who has been drafted previously. He was selected in the 33rd round of the 2014 draft by the San Diego Padres but instead opted to attend FGCU.

DAVE TOLLETT
