FORT MYERS, Fla. – After four days away from the diamond, the FGCU baseball team (24-19-1, 7-4 A-Sun) is set to welcome Lipscomb (27-15, 6-6 A-Sun) to Swanson Stadium for a three-game series that will have heavy postseason implications as both programs look to position themselves for a favorable matchup in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament at the end of May.

LIPSCOMB
The Bisons would fall to Kennesaw State last season in the A-Sun Final after putting a 33-28 record on the board with a 17-10 mark in the A-Sun. Despite being the only team to take a series from FGCU last season, the Bisons still trail the Green and Blue in the all-time series, 14-11. So far in 2015, Lipscomb is 27-15 overall and 6-6 in A-Sun play. Friday night starter Ian Martinez-McGraw has pitched to an A-Sun best 2.24 ERA while reliever Nick Andros is the defending A-Sun Pitcher of the Week. Lipscomb's pitching staff ranks third in the A-Sun with a 4.14 ERA while the Eagles sit atop in the league in that category at 3.93.

TYLER SELESKY
For the first time in his career, following a career weekend at the plate, Estero, Fla. native and FGCU third baseman Tyler Selesky (Estero, Fla./Estero HS) has been chosen at the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week, as announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon.

Selesky came into the series with UMass with just a .299 batting average but would go 3-5 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored, a walk and four RBI in the first game of the series. He exceeded those numbers in the first of two games on Saturday when he became the first FGCU player this season to register five hits in a single game. Three of those hits were doubles and he would finish with four runs scored and three more RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, the junior went 3-5 with another double, another run scored and three more RBI, giving him 10 for the weekend. On Sunday he singled in the first for his only hit then walked in the ninth before scoring on Rivera's walk-off homerun.

After his stellar series at the dish, Selesky now ranks third on the team with a .335 batting average and has 55 hits this season, nine doubles and 32 RBI with an on-base percentage of .436. He is third on the team with 27 walks and ranks second in the nation with 15 sacrifice bunts. The Estero native becomes the second FGCU player, alongside Rivera to be named A-Sun Player of the Week and the fourth player on the roster to earn a weekly award this season. Mike Murray and Brady Anderson have already claimed A-Sun Pitcher of the Week distinctions.

MIKE MURRAY
Murray (West Palm Beach, Fla./Forrest Hill HS) will take the mound for FGCU in game one on Friday night opposite the A-Sun's ERA leader. The junior pitched well in his outing last week, going 6.0 innings opposite UMass and needing just 63 pitches to do so. He would give up four hits and one unearned run while striking out six to raise his season total to 77, which ranks second in the league. He would earn his fourth win of the season, giving him 22 for his career and leaving him three wins short of tying the FGCU all-time record of 25 currently held by FGCU pitching coach Pete Woodworth and 2007 New York Yankees draft pick Jason Kiley.

HEAD COACH MATCHUP
In 13 seasons of work, FGCU head coach Dave Tollett has compiled a 458-256-3 record as the only head coach in the program's history. He will match up with Jeff Forehand who was named the 15th coach in the history of Lipscomb baseball in 2007. During that time Forehand has led the Bisons to a 233-267 record.

LAST TIME OUT
FGCU did it again on Sunday afternoon, this time by erasing a four-run deficit over the final two innings on the strength of a three-run double off the bat of Blake Berger in the eighth and a walk-off two-run home run from Nick Rivera in the ninth. The 5-4 victory gave the Eagles a four-game sweep of Massachusetts (11-20, 7-8 A-10) and extended their win streak to a 2015 best five games.

Each of the top seven hitters in the FGCU lineup recorded at least one hit on Sunday. Rivera (Cape Coral, Fla./Bishop Verot HS) and Colton Bottomley (Parkland, Fla./Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS) each collected two hits. It was Blake Berger (Jacksonville, Fla./Santa Fe College) who came up with the hit that put the Eagles back in the game in the bottom of the eighth. His three-run, bases clearing double in the gap in left brought his average for the season to .292 and gives him eighth RBI. Rivera's walk-off blast gave him his team-leading ninth homer of the season and leaves him with 53 RBI which are a career-high already.

Brady Anderson (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto HS) was on the bump for the Eagles on Sunday afternoon and worked through 6.0 innings while giving up two runs on eight hits and striking out four against no walks. Three relievers would cover the rest of this one but it was Sterling Koerner (Fort Pierce, Fla./John Carrol HS) who picked up his fifth victory of the season after tossing a scoreless ninth.

#DRAFTCITY
The Eagles would have a total of three players taken in the 2014 MLB draft, Junior outfielder Michael Suchy (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast HS), Junior third-baseman/pitcher Zack Tillery (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier HS) and Redshirt-Junior, left-handed reliever Ryan Atwood (Austin, Texas/Westwood HS/Navarro College). The Eagles have now produced 22 draft picks in their history with the most notable being 2014 AL Cy Young Award Finalist and three-time All-Star Chris Sale who was chosen in the first round, 13th overall by the Chicago White Sox in 2010. Suchy became the second-highest FGCU player ever taken when he went to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round in last June's draft and is one of just seven players in FGCU history to be chosen in the top ten rounds. The Eagles would have a program record seven players selected during the 2013 draft. Freshman left-hander Devin Smeltzer is the lone FGCU player on the roster this season who has been drafted previously. He was selected in the 33rd round of the 2014 draft by the San Diego Padres but instead opted to attend FGCU.

ATLANTIC SUN CHAMPIONSHIP
The Eagles will once again host the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament at Swanson Stadium this season. The event is set to take place May 20-23 and the top six teams in the standings at the end of the regular season will advance to the championship and compete in a double-elimination style tournament to determine the A-Sun's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles are four-time A-Sun Regular Season Champions with the most recent title coming in 2014.

DAVE TOLLETT
In 12+ seasons of work, FGCU head coach Dave Tollett has compiled a 458-256-3 record as the only head coach in the program's history. He is a four-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year and has guided the Green and Blue to four A-Sun Regular Season Championships. His team has been ranked nationally on several occasions by multiple media outlets and has coached 35 All-Conference selections, 22 draft picks, 16 current minor leaguers, four A-Sun Pitchers of the Year, three All-Americans, one National Freshman Player of the Year, one National Player of the Year and one MLB All-Star.
