FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU men's tennis team fell on the road 5-2 against FAU on Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla. Sophomores Dean Tsamas (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay HS) and Lance Lvovsky (Dania,Fla./Broward Virtual School/Jacksonville) each picked up their fourth dual match wins of the year.

FGCU falls to 2-3 on the season and FAU improves to 5-1.

In doubles, the Eagles fell behind 1-0 after losing all three doubles matches. Senior Matthew Rock (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Fort Lauderdale HS/Jacksonville) and Lvovsky lost in a tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles against Taylor Albrecht and Will Neuner, 8-7 (7-3).

In singles action, FAU closed the match with victories at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles in straight sets. Junior Jackson Moore (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch HS/Georgia State) lost at No. 3 singles against Neuner, 6-1, 7-6 (9-7). Moore lost the second set tiebreaker, 9-7, to give the Owls the win.

Tsamas won his fourth-straight match after a straight sets win at No. 4 singles against Boris Bogomolov, 6-2, 7-5. Lvovsky followed with a win in the third set at No. 5 singles over Robert Dubuque, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. Lvovsky has won four in a row after dropping his first dual match of the season.

Freshman Michael Beiler (Palm Harbor, Fla./Dunedin HS) lost against Garrett Betsarakis in straight sets, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, at No. 6 singles. Beiler lost a tough opening set in a tiebreaker 10-8 to give FAU its fifth point of the match.

The Green and Blue welcome A-Sun foe Kennesaw State to the FGCU Tennis Complex on March 1 at 7 p.m.
