Men's Tennis Falls at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. The FGCU men's tennis fell to 1-2 on the season after a 7-0 loss at Florida Atlantic University on Sunday afternoon. The Owls dropped the only match at No. 2 doubles but won each singles match.

Marc Abdelnour (6-1, 6-1), Olivier Sajous (6-2, 6-2) and Corey Smith (6-0, 6-4) all won in the top-three singles position but saw FGCU force tiebreakers at the #4 and #6 singles. Joe Cadogan defeated FGCU's Andrew Kam 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 and Eddie Majcher needed three sets to defeat FGCU's Edson Lima 6-4, 4-6, 7-6. Able to sneak away with a two set victory, FAU's Daniel Vardag defeated Danny Lee 6-4, 7-6.

In doubles play Joe Cadogan and Marc Abdelnour won at the No. 1 spot 8-1 and Lawrence Harradine and Corey Smith defeated Danney Lee and Ervin Garibovic at the No. 3 spot 9-8.

The Eagles are off until February 28 when they host Atlantic Sun Conference foe Campbell in their first A-Sun match.
