FORT MYERS, Fla. '" Four players won two matches each as #17 Florida Gulf Coast University defeated Webber International, the #18 team in NAIA, 8-1 in a dual match at the FGCU Tennis Complex Sunday afternoon.
Senior
Richard Stempnowski won the 50th singles match of his Eagles career with a victory at No. 1 singles. The Cape Coral resident, now 50-13, teamed up with
Jose Pastrello (Limeira, Brazil), a winner at No.2 singles, for their third straight doubles victory in the No.1 doubles match.
Junior
Tim Offerman (Hamburg, Germany) picked up a pair of wins, winning the No. 3 singles match, and teaming up with
Juan Carlos Osorio (Quito, Ecuador) for a win at No. 2 doubles.
Senior
Seth Fogelman (Naples, FL) was the other double winner for the Eagles, picking up wins at No. 4 singles and at No. 3 doubles with sophomore
Alberto Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia).
FGCU, now 3-0, hosts the University of Kentucky, ranked #14 in the latest Division I rankings, at the FGCU Tennis Complex on Sunday, February 27 at noon.
