DeLand, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women's cross country team finished 10th out of 14 teams Friday evening at the 15th Annual Stetson Hatter Cross Country Invitational.
Sophomore
Katy Steffan led the Eagles and finished 25th overall with a time of 20:27 Freshman
Laura Salinas was second for FGCU, placing 54th with a time of 21:43. Freshman
Nichole Grothaus was 58th in a time of 21:50. Sophomore
Lindsey Garven was 73rd with a time of 22:26, her fastest time this fall. Also for the Eagles senior
Jamie Knapp finished 81st with a time of 22:5, sophomore
Erika Long placed 94th in 23:23 and junior
Antoinette Savino was 111th with a time of 26:09.
Raynell Hagberg of Florida Atlantic took home female medalist honors in the 5K event with an overall time of 18:48, leading six Owls in the top nine to win team honors with a score of 21.
The Eagles wrap up the season with the NCAA Division II Regional Championships in Memphis on November 6.
