As A Senior (2018)
Opened the season at the FAU Invite (Aug. 31) with a 5k time of 20:42.44 for a 38th place finish overall… Came in 34th overall at the Fordham Fiasco (Sept. 8) with a 5k time of 20:27.65 … Placed 149th overall at the Paul Short Run (Sept. 26) with a 6k time of 23:57 … Ended the regular season with a season-best 5k time of 19:33.67 (17th overall) at the USF Invite (Oct. 12) … Clocked a 5k time of 20:10.01 for 40th overall at the ASUN Championship (Oct. 26).
As A Junior (2017)
Opened the season at the FAU Invite (Sept. 1) crossing the finish line 47th overall (21:28.91-5k)… Was the third runner at the UF Mountain Dew Invite (Sept. 23) to score for FGCU (20:31.10-5k)… Checked in as the second FGCU runner to score at the USF Invite (Oct. 13) in 66th with a mark of 20:43.30 to end the regular season… Clocked in a season-best 5k time at the ASUN Championships (Oct. 28) coming in second for FGCU with a time of 19:46.9.
Transferred to FGCU after spending two seasons at Pasco-Hernando State College.
As A Sophomore (2015)
Named the Most Outstanding Cross Country Runner and earned All-American honors … began the season at the Tampa Cross Country Classic and turned in a 3K time of 12:16.00 … finished 65th at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational (20:45.98) … placed in a season-best eighth at the SFSC Panther Invitational (21:49.00) … returned to the Disney Cross Country Classic and crossed the finish line in 83rd in a season-best 20:18.80 ... placed in the top-100 at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships with a personal-best time of 19:59.31.
As A Freshman (2014)
Opened her collegiate career with a 58th place finish at the Tampa Early Bird Classic (22:09.20) … finished in a season-best 37th place at the flrunners.com Invitational (22:10.38) … improved her time by more than one minute at the Disney Cross Country Classic (21:08.42).
High School
Attended Immokalee HS and was a four-year runner for coach Hugo Gijon … earned the 2013-14 Cross Country Coaches Award … competed in the state championship her sophomore year with an injured ACL and led the team to a strong finish.
Personal
Born Jan. 27, 1996 … daughter of Santiago Cruz and Valentina Reyes … brother, Argeo, is a former runner and current assistant coach at FGCU … elementary education major … chose FGCU because it is close to home and has a beautiful and diverse campus... member of the 2017-18 Eagles Council
