Biography
As A Senior (2016)
Competed in five races and turned in the most prolific season in program history … earned ASUN All-Conference First Team honors and paired with Ronny Greenup to become the first duo to take home first-team honors in the same season … paced the Green & Blue in each of his five races while becoming the first FGCU runner to win multiple races and ASUN Runner of the Week honors in the same season … turned in the Eagles’ top time in the 5k, top two times in the 8k and top time in the 10k this season … in his FGCU debut at the FAU Invitational (Sept. 2), won the event after crossing the finish line in 15:32.0 … earned Runner of the Week honors for his performances … followed it with a 7th place finish at the Mountain Dew Invitational (Sept. 24) as he turned in a time of 25:43.80 … went on to also win the Upstate Invitational (Oct. 1) after clocking a time of 25:03.29 … his time was not only the fastest in the ASUN during the regular season, but also registers 3rd all-time in program history .. he again earned Runner of the Week honors … turned in the program’s best ever finish at the ASUN Championships (Oct. 29) as he finished 3rd overall in 25:18.71 … his time again broke the top-10 in program history at 6th all-time … capped off his historic season with a 58th place finish after crossing the finish line in 32:15.7 at the NCAA South Regional (Nov. 11) … it was the 5th best finish for a FGCU runner at the NCAA meet and his time ranks 5th all-time in the 10k … helped FGCU place four runners in the top-100 of the NCAA meet for the first time in program history.
Transferred to FGCU after spending the previous two seasons at Eastern Kentucky University.
As a Junior at EKU (2015-16)
Was a member of EKU men’s team that won it’s 10th straight OVC title and was ranked as high as No. 22 in the country … placed seventh in the OVC Championships in a time of 24:59.90 … named First Team All-OVC for his performance … ran a season-best 8K time of 24:46.9 at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Oct. 16 … ran a PR of 4:25.6 in the mile during the indoor track season … scored points with a sixth-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the OVC Indoor Championships (15:06.9).
As a Sophomore of EKU (2014-15)
Was a key contributor on an EKU men’s team that won its ninth consecutive OVC title and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the fourth consecutive year … finished as the runner-up to teammate Ambrose Maritim at the OVC Championships, clocking an 8K time of 24:02.07 … named First Team All-OVC for his performance … placed fifth on the team and 45th overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional with a 10K time of 31:16.8 … placed third on the team and 134th overall at the NCAA Championships with a 10K time of 31:50.7 … ran a season-best 8K time of 23:58.5 at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 3 … Took silver in the 10,000 meters at the OVC Outdoor Championships with a personal-best time of 31:15.49 ... ran a PR of 14:22.26 in the 5,000 meters at the Tennessee Relays on April 9 … scored points with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the OVC Indoor Championships, clocking a time of 15:07.77 … recorded indoor season best times of 4:25.86 in the mile at the Thundering Herd Invitational on Jan. 30 and 8:39.47 in the 3,000 meters at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 16.
Prior to College
Attended Baari Secondary School and graduated in 2010 … transferred to EKU from Laikipia University in Kenya … completed a year in residence at EKU in 2013-14 per NCAA amateurism rules.
