SHIZUOKA, Japan - Florida Gulf Coast's women's golf team closed out the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League Tournament in eighth place at Grand Fields Country Club. The Eagles posted a final-round total of 289 to finish at 899 (304-306-289) for the three days.

FGCU finished 53 shots behind champion Nihon, which closed at 846 (271-293-282). TCU was runner-up at 864, and St. Andrews rounded out the podium at 874. Chubu Gakuin finished seventh at 895, four shots ahead of the Eagles, while Tohoku Fukushi finished ninth at 909, 10 shots behind FGCU.

"Great experience getting to compete overseas in Japan, and a good building block as we head into the rest of the season," said head coach Shannon Sykora.

Charlene Lamb turned in the low round for the Eagles in the final round, and the best round of the tournament for FGCU, carding a 4-under 67 to close things out. She finished tied for 54th at 221 (+8) in the combined men's and women's standings. Lamb was locked in on the front nine, playing it in 4-under 32 with four birdies and no bogeys, then played the back nine to even-par 35 with two birdies offset by two bogeys.

Annie Yost finished tied for 69th at 225 (+12) after an even-par 72 in the final round. She played the front nine in even-par 36, then added a 1-over 36 on the back with one birdie and two bogeys.

Sarah Hyten and Gia Culler-Guerra each carded 4-over 75s in the final round. Hyten's round pushed her to 231 (+18) and a tie for 91st, turning in a 1-over 37 on the front nine before a 3-over 38 on the back. Culler-Guerra finished at 233 (+20), tied for 97th, playing the front nine in even-par 36 with two birdies offset by two bogeys, before a 4-over 39 coming home.

Sydney Deal had the toughest day for the Eagles, closing with a 6-over 77 to finish tied for 69th alongside Yost at 225 (+12). She played the front nine in 1-over 37 before a difficult back nine led to a 5-over 40.
