FORT MYERS, Fla. -
Annie Yost has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday.
Â
The sophomore earned a share of the individual title at the Pat Bradley Invitational at Miami Lakes Golf Club, the first win of her collegiate career. Yost finished at 1-under 215 (76-68-71) to share medalist honors and led FGCU to a second-place team finish, its best of the season so far.
Â
Yost carded a 4-under 68 in the second round, the low round of the day, to jump 24 spots into the individual lead. She turned in a bogey-free 3-under 33 on the front nine of that round. In the final round, she birdied three of her first six holes on the way to a 1-under 71 to secure a share of the title. Yost tied for third in the field with 11 birdies for the tournament.
Â
"Annie has worked so hard for this, and it was great to see it pay off in Miami," said head coach
Shannon Sykora. "The way she responded after the first round says a lot about who she is as a competitor. She's earned this honor, and I know she's excited to build on it in the spring."
Â
The Eagles wrapped up their fall season at the Pat Bradley Invitational and return to action in the spring.
