SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Florida Gulf Coast's women's golf team finished 10th at the Fighting Irish Classic at Warren Golf Course. The Eagles posted a 25-over 309 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 52-over 904.
 
FGCU finished one shot behind ninth-place Furman. Purdue won the event at 1-under 851.
 
Sydney Deal led the Eagles, finishing tied for 18th at 9-over 222 with rounds of 69, 75 and 78. Her opening 69 was the Eagles' low round of the tournament. In the final round, she turned in a 1-over 36 on the front nine and added a birdie at the par-4 13th on the back.
 
Annie Yost posted the Eagles' low round of the day, a 4-over 75, and finished tied for 37th at 15-over 228. She played the back nine in 1-over 37 with birdies at the par-3 14th and the par-4 18th.
 
Sarah Hyten also finished tied for 37th at 15-over 228. Her nine birdies over the tournament included one at the par-5 17th in the final round.
 
Gia Culler-Guerra finished tied for 51st at 19-over 232, highlighted by a 74 in round two. She birdied the par-3 14th in the final round. Charlene Lamb finished tied for 54th at 20-over 233 and closed with a birdie at the par-5 17th.
 
As a team, FGCU finished tied for the seventh-most birdies in the field with 28 and posted the eighth-most pars with 158. Hyten finished tied for the sixth-most birdies in the field with nine. Deal tied for 10th-most pars in the field with 37, and Yost tied for 21st with 34.
 
"We're going to learn from this week and keep building as we move forward this fall," head coach Shannon Sykora said.
