CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer returns to conference action to cap its eighth game out of the first nine on the road when the Eagles take on Queens at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The Eagles (4-4-0, 0-2-0) were dominant in Texas last weekend, earning a 3-1 win over Houston Christian and a 3-0 win over Incarnate Word. Six different players found the back of the net for FGCU, and Javier Brown was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after scoring his first career goal. 

The Eagles did not allow a shot on goal to UIW for the first time since Oct. 9, 2021, when FGCU held Bellarmine without a shot on target. Incarnate Word's two shot attempts is also the lowest total for a FGCU opponent since the same contest with the Knights.

Additionally, FGCU's plus-15 shot margin is its largest against a Division I opponent since Sept. 16, 2022, when the Eagles outshot Jacksonville by 16. Goalkeeper Eduard Garcia had little to do on the evening, as he did not face a shot on target to post the Eagles' first clean sheet of 2026. Garcia improved to 3-0-0 in net with the victory.

Queens enters at 2-6-1 and 1-1-1 in ASUN play. The Royals' nonconference slate proved challenging, with losses to a trio of ACC teams in Duke, Virginia Tech and NC State, among others. A 10-2 rout of William Peace University has provided the bulk of the scoring punch for Queens, as the Royals have tallied six goals outside of that contest. 

Against ASUN opponents, Queens fell 3-1 to Lipscomb, drew 1-1 with Jacksonville, and defeated Stetson 1-0. Luis Vera Mayorca has five goals on the campaign to lead the Royals, including three scores against Division I opponents. Matthew Bademian has made five appearances in goal, including in Queens' most recent matchup.

The Royals lead the all-time series 2-0, with wins in 2024 and 2023. After not facing off in 2025 in head coach Oliver Twelvetrees' first season, the second year head coach will face the Charlotte-based squad for the first time.
