FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball head coach
Raina Harmon announced the signing of Lily Zeinstra from Butler University to the 2026-27 roster.
Zeinstra joins incoming freshmen Elle McCulloch and Ari Turla, who signed with the Eagles back in November, as new additions to the program. Returning players for FGCU include
Cerina Rolle,
Karina Gordon,
Sinai Douglas,
Jalei Pillow,
Shameir Quimby,
Airah Lavy, and
Eve Alexander.
"Lily brings immediate impact to our program with her scoring ability and versatility as a big guard," said Harmon. "She's a proven three-point shooter who can stretch defenses while also putting pressure on the rim. Her length allows her to disrupt defensively and make a strong impact on the glass, and we're excited to integrate Lily into our FGCU brand of up-tempo basketball!"
A junior guard from Byron Center, Mich., Zeinstra is a product of Byron Center High School and spent two seasons with the Bulldogs of Butler University. Over her two years in Indianapolis, Zeinstra appeared in 65 games with 48 starts, totaling 502 points, 186 rebounds, 139 assists, 44 steals, and 19 blocks.
As a sophomore, Zeinstra appeared in 31 games with 26 starts, averaging 7.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from three. She reached double figures on multiple occasions, highlighted by a career-high 19 points against Dayton, along with season highs of seven rebounds against Eastern Illinois and six assists against Marquette.
As a freshman, Zeinstra appeared in all 34 games with 22 starts, averaging 7.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field and 41 percent from three. She posted a season-high 18 points against Xavier and nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds at Seton Hall.
Before arriving at Butler, Zeinstra wrapped up a decorated prep career at Byron Center High School, finishing with 1,691 points, 717 rebounds, 275 steals, 252 assists, and 273 three-pointers made. As a senior, she averaged 25.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 steals per game, earning Miss Basketball Runner-Up honors, a Division I All-State selection, and recognition as part of the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) Best of the Best. A three-time all-conference selection and two-time team captain, Zeinstra was also part of three conference championship teams and back-to-back District Championship squads, scoring 33 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the District Championship game. She also competed on the AAU circuit with West Michigan Drive.
Zeinstra chose FGCU after falling in love with the location, campus, and the entirety of the basketball program.
