UWG takes second game of doubleheader

CARROLLTON, Ga. – Florida Gulf Coast softball (14-25, 8-6 ASUN) rallied to tie the game in the sixth, but gave up a walk-off to drop the second game of Saturday's doubleheader 3-2 to West Georgia (13-30, 5-9).

Presley Smith and Sophie Wylie each hit a solo home run for FGCU in the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-2. Smith's home run was the first of her career, while Wylie's was her second of the season.

West Georgia got out to a 2-0 lead behind its own pair of solo home runs from Sky Ramos in the first and third innings. The Wolves walked off the game with a trio of seventh inning singles; Jenna Samuel drove in the winning run.
