FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU begins its Atlantic Sun Conference portion of the schedule Saturday as the Eagles play at Lipscomb, followed by a Sunday contest at North Alabama.
While the Eagles (10-3) have won five of their past six matches, they head on the road looking for just their second win away from home this season.
Florida Gulf Coast embarks on the road swing with four players having already reached double-digit wins in singles play, but the Eagles are searching to win their first doubles point since Feb. 22.
Sabrina Jaramillo and
Nora Svensson each lead the way with identical 15-4 records and have won seven straight while
Anjali Kotecha boasts a 12-7 mark and brings a six-match win streak into the weekend.
On Saturday, FGCU faces Lipscomb for the first time since the Bisons eliminated the Eagles from the 2025 ASUN Tournament last season, 4-3. While the Green & Blue have a 15-4 advantage over Lipscomb in the all-time series, FGCU has dropped the past two meetings and has not beaten Lipscomb on the road since 2023.
The Bisons (5-4) have won just two of their past six matches this season, and are coming off a Wednesday home loss to Arkansas State, 4-2, a team the Eagles defeated at home earlier this season.
Lipscomb has three players with double-digit singles wins so far this year in Mariia Dolzhenko (14-7), Deborah Dominguez Collado (12-5) and Sofiia Paladi (11-8). Dolzhenko claimed a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) win over
Anjali Kotecha during the fall individual conference tournament, while Paladi fell to
Nora Svensson, 6-3, 6-1, in the championship match.
Sunday's contest at North Alabama marks just the fifth meeting between the two programs, with the Eagles claiming all four previous matches. The Lions (9-2, 1-0 ASUN) have won eight straight matches and are undefeated at home. UNA already has a conference win under their belt, a 4-0 home win over Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 27. Eeva Ristola leads UNA with a 7-0 singles mark in dual match play and claimed a 7-5, 6-3 win over Kotecha in the fall.
