FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU women's basketball has earned a first round bye in the WNIT, tournament organizers announced Monday afternoon.

With the bye, the Eagles directly advance to the second round. Those games are scheduled to take place on Sunday-Tuesday, Mar. 22-24. FGCU is in the running to host a second round game, but game dates, times, locations and matchups will not be announced until the conclusion of first round games on Saturday.

Eagles fans who want to secure their seats for a potential second round game at Alico Arena can do so by contacting the FGCU Ticket Office at 866-FGCU-TIX (866-342-8849) or by emailing Tickets@FGCU.edu. The ticket office will reserve seats with a deferred bill plan, meaning fans will only be charged if FGCU is selected to host.

Currently, the Eagles would play the winner of the Norfolk State-Loyola Chicago game set for Saturday at 2 p.m. in Norfolk, Virginia. While the WNIT has announced a bracket framework, the tournament committee reserves the right to adjust and/or reseed the bracket with each advancing round.
