FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast softball (2-3) will host Louisiana Monroe (2-4) and Hofstra (0-0) in the FGCU Eagle Invitational beginning Friday, February 13 at the FGCU Softball Complex.

The Eagles enter at 2-3 after splitting their games during the FGCU Kickoff Classic and falling narrowly to Kansas, 5-3, on Tuesday night. Tiffany Meek has led FGCU at the plate through the first five games, hitting .417 with a triple. Kiki Daniels has a team-best 1.306 OPS, and has homered and tripled in the first week of softball. 

Julia Bacoulis has racked up strikeouts in the circle, notching 15 across 11.0 innings. The freshman leads the Eagles with a 1.27 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.

ULM opened 2026 at the Twisted Vines Bayou Bash, falling to No. 1 Texas Tech, McNeese and North Texas. The Warhawks earned a 4-3 win in the tournament over Tulsa and took a 3-2 nine inning win in their home opener against Stephen F. Austin.

Elle Carter is hitting .400 for Louisiana Monroe. Maryssa Zenzen is slugging .813 with a pair of homers and a team-high .444 OBP. In the circle, Ashanti McDade has a 3.82 ERA over 11.0 innings. Skylar Waggoner has added 14 strikeouts for the Warhawks.

FGCU and Louisiana Monroe will meet for the first time ever on Friday. 

Hofstra will open its 2026 season at the FGCU Eagle Invitational. Alanna Morse was named to the preseason All-CAA Team after hitting .343 with 27 RBI in 2025. Emma Falen earned an honorable mention preseason All-CAA nod and returns as the Pride's leader in the circle after earning 12 wins in 2025.

The Pride lead the all-time series with the Eagles 4-3. The series renews Friday for the first time since 2018.
