JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- After helping the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles to an ASUN Regular Season Championship on Saturday, a pair of Eagles added to their trophy cases on Monday as
Keira Morgan was named the ASUN Player of the Week for the second time this season and
Ryanne Robinson earned ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors for the Green and Blue.
Morgan earns her second ASUN Player of the Week honor in the past four weeks after scoring the game winner for the Eagles in their victory over Stetson Saturday. The goal was her fourth of the year and paired with her ASUN leading six assists, she finished with 14 points during the regular season.
Robinson picked up ASUN Defensive Player of the Week accolades after helping the Eagles back line to their eighth shutout of the season against the Hatters. Robinson and the Eagles defense held Stetson to just three total shots and one shot on goal in the win, marking FGCU's third clean sheet in their past four contests.
It marks the third time this season that multiple Eagles have earned Player of the Week honors in the same week. With Robinson's selection, all four FGCU starting defenders have now brought home weekly awards this season.
The freshly crowned ASUN Regular Season Champions earned a first round bye for the upcoming ASUN Championships and will play the winner of Thursday's West Florida vs. Jacksonville matchup on Sunday Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. at Pickering Field in the semifinals.
