FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast women's basketball was tied atop the ASUN Preseason coaches poll and a trio of Eagles made the Preseason All-ASUN team, the conference announced Tuesday.

Sinai Douglas, Eve Alexander and Denika Lightbourne were tabbed to the preseason all-conference team, as FGCU led all schools with three selections. The Eagles were picked tied for first with reigning conference champion Jacksonville; FGCU took three first place votes to the Dolphins' four. JU's Tatum Brown took both the preseason Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year nods.

FGCU fans can see Douglas, Alexander, Lightbourne and the Eagles take on FAU, George Mason, Arkansas State, Fresno State and more at Alico Arena this season with season tickets, mini plans, and single-game tickets. Tickets to see FGCU face Tennessee and either Houston or Creighton during Coconut Hoops at Alico Arena are also on sale now.

Douglas averaged 11.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game en route to a Third Team All-ASUN selection and a pair of ASUN Newcomer of the Week honors last season. The Toledo, Ohio, native scored in double digits 19 times with two 20-point games, and tallied a team-high 31.9 minutes per game while starting all 32 games for FGCU.

Alexander posted 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game on 61.8% shooting from the field during her sophomore campaign. She returns as the Eagles' leader in blocked shots, and led the squad in the ASUN Tournament with 20 points against Bellarmine and 18 against Stetson.

Lightbourne is the lone transfer on the Preseason All-ASUN team. She joins FGCU after averaging 9.5 points per game on 50.3% shooting from the field at FIU. She added 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game as a Panther.
