BENT HARBOR, Mich.- Starting the 28th, the Eagles will travel to Michigan to compete in Jim Delapa Intercollegiate, running through Monday. FGCU will face 12 other teams, which features - Central Michigan University, Chicago State University, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Illinois University, Princeton University, Saint Mary's College of California, San Jose State University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Michigan, the University of Pacific, and the University of San Francisco.
The FGCU men's golf team finished tied for second at the season-opening Myrtle Beach Incollegiate tournament, posting a team score of 847 (-17). Sophomore
Nolan Harper led the Eagles, tying for fifth at 208 (-8), while
Brett Moore tied for eighth at 211 (-5), giving FGCU two top-10 individual finishes.
Sacha Ruiz (-3) tied for 16th and
Sebastian Gamboa (-1) helped the team place four players under par, with
Tom Scullion rounding out the scoring at 33rd. Harper and Ruiz each recorded an eagle on the par-5 seventh, and Moore led the field with 13 birdies.
Following the Jim Delapa Intercollegiate, the Eagles will host the West Bay Collegiate in Estero, Fla. from Oct. 6-7th.
