Eagles set to clash with West Georgia

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast women's soccer is set to face West Georgia on Sunday afternoon with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Eagles fell to 1-1 in conference play with a 1-0 result at Queens on Thursday. The Royals scored just 5:43 into the match and only attempted one other shot on goal in the 90 minutes. FGCU controlled possession the majority of the match, but couldn't find the back of the net despite 19 shots and nine on goal.

West Georgia enters at 3-9 and 1-3 in ASUN play. The Wolves scored all three of their goals in conference action in a 3-1 win over Stetson on Thursday, but fell 3-0 and 5-0 to North Florida and Jacksonville, respectively, the week before.

For the first time in program history, FGCU is offering fall season tickets for its soccer programs, with packages starting at $60. Fans who purchase season tickets for either the men's or women's soccer teams will receive a season ticket combo for both programs.

The Eagles return home to Pickering Field at the FGCU Soccer Complex on Thursday, Oct. 2, for a 6 p.m. match against Jacksonville. The night will feature FGCU's annual Kick Cancer Night, highlighted by a PINK OUT and opportunities to donate to win gift cards, with all proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
