FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball announces a powerhouse showdown as they welcome the 3x National Champion and 2025 national runner-up South Carolina Gamecocks to Alico Arena Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m.
"This program has a proud history of competing with the best, and we're excited to keep building on that tradition. Coach Staley and the Gamecocks have pushed the game forward for the past decade, and it's an honor to bring them to Alico Arena!" - Raina Harmon, Head Women's Basketball Coach
Meeting the 2025-26 Eagles:
FGCU closed the 2024–25 season at 30-4, sweeping the Atlantic Sun regular-season and tournament titles while securing their 12th ASUN tourney crown in program history.
New to the helm this season, Raina Harmon arrives from the University of Iowa, whereas an assistant coach she helped amass a staggering 208‑63 record and captured five Big Ten titles over eight seasons. At her introductory press conference, she emphasized continuity and embracing FGCU's signature fast-paced, perimeter-focused "Raining 3s" philosophy.
Coach Harmon is eager to build on the rich history of FGCU women's basketball. "We're retooling around our strengths in the backcourt and from deep," she shared, having tapped transfer standouts like Airah Lavy from Saint Francis and Shameir Quimby out of Miami Dade College to maintain FGCU's offensive identity. The team will return five players from the 2024-25 NCAA Tournament Team. For more information on the complete 2025-26 roster.
