The Eagles (18–25, 8–13 ASUN) are in the midst of a seven-game homestand. Last week, they went 3–1 at Swanson Stadium, defeating FIU 15–8 and winning two of three games against Queens University of Charlotte in conference play. FGCU hit a season-high eight home runs during the weekend series.
Harrison Povey accounted for three, including an inside-the-park homer in Friday night's 8–1 win.
Jon Embury also homered in back-to-back games.
FGCU enters the weekend tied with the University of West Georgia for fourth place in the Graphite Division. The top four teams in each division will advance to the ASUN Championship, scheduled for May 20–25 in DeLand.
North Florida (22–23, 10–11 ASUN) sits in third place in the Graphite Division, two games ahead of FGCU. Last weekend, the Ospreys dropped two of three games to division-leading Stetson. In Saturday's contest, UNF built an 11–5 lead and held off a late rally to win 11–9.
Following Sunday's game, the Eagles will have a Tuesday contest at FAU before they travel to West Georgia for another key series. They will then play their final nonconference game of the season at Florida Atlantic on May 13 before wrapping up the regular season against Stetson, May 15–17 at Swanson Stadium.
