Olivia Black,
Avery Viancos and
Emily Chiarella all reached major milestones in the 5-3 loss for Florida Gulf Coast University softball against Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.
Black stole two bases on the day. She now has 25 during the 2025 season, tied for sixth in a single season in FGCU's DI era. Black is also one of four players in FGCU's DI era to have at least two seasons of 25 stolen bases; no player has ever had three such seasons.
Viancos tripled in the first inning to move her into the top 10 in FGCU's DI era in triples and Chiarella bunted her way on in the fifth inning to secure her 100
th career hit.
The Eagles (21-22, 8-4 ASUN) got the scoring going early with the Viancos triple and Royals (12-23, 6-6 ASUN) error scoring Black and Viancos for a 2-0 lead.
Alexis Cowles pushed her streak of games with an RBI to five with a sacrifice fly to bring home black.
This would be all the scoring FGCU could muster and a five-run fifth inning for Queens put the Royals ahead for the eventual 5-3 win.
