Florida Gulf Coast University baseball suffered a series sweep on Saturday, dropping the series finale against Jacksonville University 7-1 in Jacksonville, Florida.

FGCU falls to 15-24 and 6-12 in the Atlantic Sun Conference after witnessing its second conference sweep of the season. The Eagles were nearly scoreless for 27 consecutive innings in the series against JU. FGCU pushed across its lone run in the top of the ninth in game three on Saturday, courtesy of a RBI double from Jake Mummau.

FGCU was outscored 18-1 in the series sweep, losing game one 8-0 and game two 3-0. Prior to Friday's back-to-back shutout losses, FGCU had never been shutout in two consecutive games in program history. The bottom of the order, eight and nine holes, recorded half of FGCU's hits on Saturday. Both Mummau and Jon Embury registered two hits.

The Green and Blue had their chances Saturday. The Eagles left the bases loaded in the fourth and stranded runners at second and third in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Eagles return to the diamond Tuesday, April 22, to host FIU at 2 p.m. at Swanson Stadium for a rescheduled midweek contest.
