The Florida Gulf Coast University baseball team split a conference doubleheader with a 10-0 loss in game one while picking up a 3-0 win in game two against the University of North Florida this afternoon at Harmon Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
FGCU is now 10-18 and 2-7 in the ASUN while North Florida moves to 17-11 and 6-3 in the conference.
The Eagles are back in action when they host FAU on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Game 1: FGCU 0, North Florida 10 – 7 innings
North Florida wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first as it pushed six runs across on five hits, with one of the hits being a three-run home run.
The Osprey added a run in the second, one in the third, and two in the seventh to lock down a 10-0 run-rule victory.
North Florida pitching did not allow a single FGCU player to draw a walk and only gave up three hits in the contest.
Harrison Povey tallied two hits, with one of them being a triple, while teammate
Jake McKee recorded the team's other hit.

Ashton Pocol took the loss (0-1) after allowing eight runs on nine hits in two innings. Reliever
Logan Baisley struck out a game-high three over four innings of work while allowing four hits.
Game 2: FGCU 3, North Florida 0
The Eagles took the lead in the third following a scoreless first and second innings. It started with a single to right center off the bat of
Jake Mummau. He later moved up to second on a passed ball. McKee reached base for the second time of the day, this time on a walk, and both runners then moved up 90 feet after
Mac Moise was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
FGCU got on the board when Mummau scored off
Vincent Samuel's RBI walk to make it 1-0 and keep the bases loaded with one out. Following a flyout,
Aidan Corn singled through the left side to score McKee and Moise to make it 3-0 before the inning ended.

Evan Dempsey allowed five hits and two walks over six innings of work to pick up the win (1-1). He struck out a game-high 10. Reliever
Ryland Bozenhard earned his third save of the season, not allowing a hit and only walking two while striking out five over three innings.
Corn and Mummau combined going 4-for-7 with a run scored, a stolen base, and two RBIs.
Connor Fosnow, McKee, and Povey each finished the game with a hit apiece.
