FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University softball will travel to DeLand, Fla. to face the Stetson Hatters starting with a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday. First pitch for both days is scheduled for 1 p.m. All games can be watched on ESPN+.
FGCU is on an eight game winning streak after sweeping the ASUN opening weekend series against Jacksonville. It is the longest win streak since 2021. The Eagles have swept the opening weekend of conference season for the second consecutive year. FGCU has outscored opponents 55-12 during the winning streak.
Only two pitchers entered the circle over the weekend.
Allison Sparkman pitched in all three games, totaling 13 innings with a complete game victory in the second game of the Saturday doubleheader.
Victoria Ash came on in relief in the first game on Saturday, shutting down a promising Dolphins offense securing the save and win for FGCU.
At the plate,
Camryn Feast belted two home runs against Jacksonville, both to a similar spot over the left field wall. Feast reached base safely in every at-bat in the Sunday game with a home run, double and three RBI.
Sophie Wylie also hit a home run in the Sunday game, also reaching base safely in every at-bat, walking twice.
Following this weekend, the Green and Blue will return home for a series against ASUN newcomers West Georgia.
