FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University men's basketball will host an Atlantic Sun Conference quarterfinal matchup against Queens University of Charlotte in Alico Arena on Monday at 7 p.m.
The Eagles are 8-1 against ASUN opponents at home this year, having beaten Queens 60-47 in Southwest Florida on Jan 18.
Overall, the Royals have the series edge on FGCU winning five of seven against the Eagles. In Fort Myers, the Green and Blue are 2-0, while away from Southwest Florida the Royals have won all five matchups.
The thirteen wins for FGCU in conference play is the most in the
Pat Chambers era and the most since the 2012-13 season, the same year the Eagles pulled off its Dunk City Sweet 16 run. Eighteen wins in the overall column is the most since 2021-22.
The last time FGCU hosted an ASUN Tournament game was 2022. Monday's quarterfinal matchup will be the first home tournament game for coach Chambers.
The third seed is the highest FGCU has earned in a non-divisional format since 2016-17.
Dallion Johnson leads the way in the scoring column for FGCU, averaging 15.1 points per game.
Keeshawn Kellman is second on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game while leading the team in FG% (.606), rebounds per game (7.4) and blocks (33).
Leo Colimerio and Chris Ashby both average double figures for the Royals at 13.8 and 12.9 points per game, respectively. Seven-foot big man Malcolm Wilson leads the ASUN with 105 blocks. Wilson would lead the country in blocks if the NCAA recognized Queens' stats as a reclassifying team.
Should the Eagles advance to the semifinals, they will play the winner of the quarterfinal hosted by No. 2 seed North Alabama.
