FORT MYERS, Fla. – When Florida Gulf Coast men's basketball begins its 2026-27 Atlantic Sun Conference schedule in January, the Eagles will immediately be put to the test.
FGCU ended last season with a six-game home winning streak, but the Eagles will have to open league play this coming season with three straight road games before they get a chance to extend that home court magic at Alico Arena.
The new-look ASUN conference schedule consists of a 14-game slate, which includes seven home and seven road contests. The familiar foes of North Florida, Jacksonville, Stetson, Lipscomb, Queens and Bellarmine, along with FGCU, remain in the ASUN for 2026-27, and are joined by newcomer West Florida.
The Argonauts join the ASUN with their move to Division I for the 2026-27 campaign. FGCU and West Florida will meet for the first time at the Division I level in the Eagles' ASUN home opener on Jan. 21.
The conference slate kicks off with a three-game road trip, beginning at Stetson on Jan. 9. The northernmost portion of the schedule follows, with a trip to Bellarmine on Jan. 14 and to Lipscomb on Jan. 16.
Queens will make its way to Fort Myers on Jan. 23 before FGCU rounds out the first half of the conference slate and the month of January with a trip to Jacksonville and North Florida on Jan. 28 and 30, respectively.
The back half of the conference schedule begins with the Eagles' first men's and women's basketball home doubleheader of ASUN play on Feb. 6; the men will take on Stetson at Alico Arena while the women host Bellarmine. Lipscomb and Bellarmine will complete the home-and-home matchups on Feb. 11 and 13, respectively. The Eagles travel to Charlotte to face Queens on Feb. 18, and FGCU will make the return trip to Pensacola on Feb. 20 to end its conference road slate.
The regular season will end as February comes to a close. North Florida squares off with FGCU on Feb. 25, and the Eagles welcome Jacksonville for Senior Day on Feb. 27.
March brings the ASUN Championship, which will be held from March 4-7 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.
Head coach Pat Chambers and the Eagles are seeking the first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016-17 after making a run to the ASUN semifinals in 2025-26. Eight returners, led by Darren Williams and George Washington III, are joined by eight newcomers, including the first 7-0 player in program history in Penn State transfer Justin Houser, freshman German guard
Nikolas Sermpezis and more.
