Vincent Samuel hit his first home run as an Eagle in a 4-1 loss against USF in Tampa, Fla. on Tuesday.
The FGCU bullpen had a strong showing on the day, going 5.2 innings without allowing a run and only allowing two base runners. Dylan Cheely pitched two perfect innings in relief, striking out one.
The Bulls scored two runs in the second and third innings to jump out to the early four-run lead. Samuel would answer back with the only run of the game for the Eagles, a home run to left field, but it wouldn't be enough to secure an Eagle victory.
Mac Moise and
Jon Embury each recorded hits on the day, both singles. Embury drew a walk and
Jake Mummau added a walk as well.
The Green and Blue return to action against the Bulls at home on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
